Question Lyrics and Music

Which song do you love for the MUSIC and which one do you love for the LYRICS on SYW?

Music:

Lindsey: Murrow - HOLY CRAP, this music freaks me out!! It's got this Indian pow-wow meets rock star quality to it. LOL That solo frickin KILLS and it also gives ya chills!! Hey, that rhymed. LOL Listen to the DVD-Audio...WOAH!!!!

Runner up: Miranda - This song makes you wanna groove and dance!! I love the da-da-da, da-da-da, da-da-da dadada of the guitar, and I love that it closes the song with that guitar riff.

Stevie: Everybody Finds Out - THIS IS JUST FUN!!! The music is VERY upbeat and that bass is prominent (nice John!!). You just wanna get up and dance when this one comes on!! And who DOESN'T love that ending!?!?

Runner up: Destiny Rules - I LOVE the countryish guitar especially towards the ending...GORGEOUS!! This NEEDS to be on country radio!!!!!!!!!! This is a WAAAAAY better country song than the crappy Too Far From Texas!

Lyrics:

Lindsey: Red Rover - Because it STILL escapes me what the frick this song is about, regardless of the fact Lindsey SAID it was Greek gods looking down on Earth or my interp or anyone elses'. LOL The lyrics are a mystery and I love singing them!! "Whisper murder in your ear..." FREAKY!!!

Runner up: Say Goodbye - Lovely lyrics for a lovely song. Everything works on this song. "I fall down, I get up, and I've always had to fight, everything that was wrong, for the things that were right." - One of my fave lyrics of all time!! GREATNESS!!

Stevie: Smile at You - I've ALWAYS loved this song AND the lyrics. They have BITE and just reading or reciting them, you can HEAR how sarcastic she is being. "My first mistake was to smile at you..." - DANG!

Runner up: Destiny Rules - Such a pretty song all around but the lyrics are nice!! They fit with the music so perfectly...and her delivery of them make this song great! "when I see you again, like I always do, it appears to me that destiny rules."...Huh...my least fave FM song in THAT line...wierd. LOL

After ALL that typing, I just HAVE to say my FAVORITE sound of this entire album is in Red Rover...at times 1:03-05, 1:08-10, 1:14-16, 2:51-53, 2:56-58, 3:01-03...that guitar sound touches my soul kind of like in ISA when he is doing the solo on The Dance...I'm on a totally different plane in a space of time OUT of this world. CANNOT explain it in words. I'm sure we all have songs that do THAT to us. I don't know WHY that particular sound touches my soul, but it does...and I thank GOD thank he inspired Lindsey to play it THAT way.

Red Rover is stunning. I think the melody and guitar playing are the prettiest on that song.

Come, as a total contrast, has the HOTTEST lyrics and melody. These two songs send me on totally different moods, both just as strong as each other.

Lyrics, Stevie wins with Smile At You, Running Through the Garden and Goodbye Baby, even though Say Goodbye is stunning to me as well lyrically.

I still have alot more listening ( I have probably listened only 30-40 times) to really get a grasp. I keep listening to the same songs over and over ( songs 9-10-11-15)

Thumbs up Okay...

here are my picks:

Music:

Destiny Rules-Classic rock LIVES!!!

Come-Just love the total sound of this song....Love how it builds...

Lyrics:

Destiny Rules-Ranks up there lyrically (IMHO only) with the GnR song "Estranged" as a possible questioning of love in a relationship after it has ended...

What's The World Coming To-Cool lyrics that seem sad but true about the current music industry

Default Hmm there's a tricky one

Lyrics

Lindsey Red Rover
Stevie Say You Will

Music

Lindsey Say Goodbye or Murrow
Stevie Illume Ironically it has the least 'movement' in terms of chord changes, but what does it for me is how they work within that, in particular the exotic percussion and John's bass..
