Default Lindsey and Warren Zevon

Just curious about what happened b/w these two guys? I noticed Lindsey wasn't a part of Zevon's last album "The Wind", and since they were former roommates i had expected him to be (Petty sang some backing vocals on it, and he is a good friend of Lindsey's). Anyone know if they remained friends?

thanks

I do think they remained friends, but I also found it odd that Stevie spoke in a clip for The Wind documentary, but Lindsey didn't. They were both on tour (SYW) at the time and I wondered about Lindsey's absence.

Along the same lines, I was surprised that LB sang "Gold" at John Stewart's memorial.

Did he? I know he performed and we even had pictures, but I didn't know he did that one. I was surprised that Stevie didn't attend.

I remember reading the article about that. After telling what everyone sang ( individually ), it said they all joined to sing "Gold" - and that it was pretty damn good ( I'm paraphrasing... )! I would love for the video of that to come out of hiding some time ( as well as Lindsey's version of "Lock All the Windows", from the same memorial )

Yeah, there's a photo of him singing and playing the Turner and the acoustic. I'm assuming he did "Gold" with the Turner, of course. I was surprised that Stevie didn't attend too, but I guess Lindsey sort of repped her by doing that song. I know it was invitation only and surely she was invited. It would've been super cool if she had been there and done "Gold" with LB. I wish they would pull stuff like that out and do it - just like the stuff they did with Walter - and Warren (to sorta get back on topic)...

Me too. I really had hoped that they' would do both John's "Gold" and Warren's "Overdraft" on the Unleashed tour! I know it wasn't a realistic wish, but, I could dream, right? I also thought it would have been cool to do "Werewolves of London", on their Halloween concert...I mean that makes sense, and they just shoulda done it...and they should've dressed in costumes too - seriously, they should have ( Stevie a witch - duh, Lindsey a mad scientist...John and Mick...I'm not sure! ) but, of course they don't seem to like to tweak the playlist - even on holidays

And Lindsey should have just gone to town on his solos for all of those songs, and just jammed away

BTW, Nice pic from the memorial

There was an interview with LB but I can't remember where. I think it was an audio one, where he was taking questions from fans on the radio...Rockline?

Anyhow someone asked him about Warren and his comment was the Waddy would be the person to know, since Waddy was around Warren more, or stayed in touch or something. I realize that I am being very vague, but maybe it will jog someone else's memory to post what they remember.

=======

On the John Stewart topic...can someone point me to the thread where the Memorial was discussed? That picture posted by CA Dreaming is really cool. Thanks, and should you have more, I would love to see them.

Thanks Betsy! I actually found that Rockline interview, and Lindsey did answer a question about Warren Zevon. Good to know he only had fond memories of the guy.

What did he say? Or can you give more info on the interview?

Thanks.

Let's see - I think these were from the Unleashed shows overseas. Here's one labeled Wembley so it was from one of the London Unleashed shows, either Oct. 30 or 31st.

Here's the original from my sig pic:

Photobucket

Thanks to whoever took it. Great shot!
