Question That incident where that guy fainted & Stevie was pulling him up and - yeah that.

Some time ago - - - I believe it was in 2005 - Stevie came out on stage before the show and held some people's hands in the front row - and all of a sudden there was this collective *gasp* and Stevie was seen pulling back with ALL her might as security rushed over towards her at top speed.

It later "surfaced" that the guy had fainted - in fact, he came in to The Ledge here and told everyone that that's what had actually happened; and that Stevie realized instantly what was happening and was pulling backwards because she was concerned that he might hit his head when he fell. (He also mentioned something about how he used to come into the Nicksfix chat room all the time but was afraid to now because he thought everyone was mad at him.)

Well . . . Yeah, I've recently heard it claimed that that was utter buschwa, and that "there was more to the story than had met the eye."
I was just wondering if anybody might have some insights or info about what actually went down there.

If I remember correctly, somebody posted a video (from a cell phone) of the "collective gasp" and the security guards running over towards Stevie; but they weren't able to get any of the actual incident because it was too crowded.

Yeah, that story does have an air of, "oh.. BS!!!!" about it. So did this guy try to pull Stevie off the stage and into his luvin' arms or something? I don't believe I've heard about this but it does sound interesting.

I hadn't heard about this...I wasn't on the forums back then. But I'm guessing if he fainted or was trying to pull Stevie back - Stevie still would have reacted the same way and tried to pull back, as to not fall into the crowd. I guess she would let go, unless he had a good grip on her.

If he fainted, wouldn't he be escorted out of the concert? Did he leave afterwards?

To be honest those sorts of details are "hazy" in my memory. I just recall the video that somone posted showing a security guard running across the stage; and I remember that the guy apparently came in here a few days later and explained what he said was "his version of events." Later on, someone said that they were there and that "that's not what they saw."

(P.S. - Clearly, either way, there was a "major breach" of security there - - It shouldn't have been necessary for someone to have to run all the way across the stage to get to her.)

Have not heard this before. Any kind of security breach like this always kind of freaks me out!

I was at that show and I read that guy's story a long time ago. I personally thought it was BS too but whatever.

I'll admit I was far away, but here's what I saw:

Opening song starts and Stevie walks out. Someone has their hand in the air at the front of the stage. Stevie walks directly towards him and grabs his hand. The next thing I knew Stevie was going forward and it looked like she was going right off the stage. Everyone gasped. Stevie went back to the mic and started singing ( I think she opened with OTR at that show) and from where I was standing it looked like she was glaring in his direction hardcore. He says it was out of concern but we all know the "Stevie Stare" right? I never saw anyone come to the front either to help the guy who supposedly fainted which also adds to me disbelieving the story.

I just read his version on nicksfix. Uh....really? That sounds like a bunch of BS to me, but what do I know. His screen name is Musicman, almost like Ethan's!

Thanks, guys. I didn't remember in the slightest that there was something on Nicksfix about it. Believe it or not, I believe him. But of course I could be 100% wrong; and it wouldn't surprise me in the least if I was.
