That title would definately make it a Country Album, which would be fine by me.

Viv, that looks like Nas in your signature. If it is, it's a good picture. He's my favorite.

It's Messy Marv. Look closer, you can see his name on the hood of the car. Nas is cool too Nathan. Would you like me to set you up on a date with Nas?

If this was a story of Stevie (or Dave) working with the Jonas Bros. there'd be non-stop media inquiries about it. But because of the stage they're at in life, the interest is different. Which is not to say it's non-existent. Of course, when something official is announced it will make the music news rounds. We just aren't getting the same advance information or specutlation (from people other than diehard fans) that we would have gotten in the eighties. Michele |

Speaking of interviews, Larry Flick did an interview with her in 2009 and it was recently uploaded in a previous thread. He retweeted some tweets about Stevie 2 days ago so I asked him if he would interview her again, his response:
LarryFlick @APerfectLie226 Working on setting something up for the fall, actually! ![]()

And why is that? Because it's not the eighties...so you can't expect news of a new Stevie album is going to get the same traction/prominence as it did when her career was red hot and the media was an entirely a different animal than it is now. It is what it is: Lady Gaga Land. 60-something year old rockers are not in the realm of their main target audience.

I agree with points made by both Penguin Head and Michelej1, for starters.
Also factor in this age of immediacy of media that we live in. I just wonder- what IF this new Stevie cd- coming this fall, I still have faith-- what if it turns out to be a hit? If the cd is selling, and she's on the radio, into next year, promoters will be happy to book Stevie solo in 2011 at less than half of what it would cost them to buy Fleetwood Mac's services. Might we not see Fleetwood Mac back until 2012? Last edited by Nikolaj; 06-23-2010 at 11:54 PM.. Reason: Good God! |

Do you think that's even possible? I hope it will do good whenever it
comes out. But with the state of the music industry and Stevie's age taken into considertation (not to mention the very disappointing sales of "The Soundstage Sessions" CD) I can't imagine it selling well at all. I think her only hope for decent sales at this stage of her career would be if VH1 would partner up with her like they did for TISL. |

I'm hoping this new cd will be a creative high for her and that Stevie records her best album. I'd like for it to sell great, yes, but more than that, I want it to be great. Those of us who have believed in her talent for so long, know that she has it in her, and I feel, can't speak for other fans, that Stevie has yet to release her 'ultimate album', so I think it's great she's going after it.
While she has 'nothing to prove' at this stage, it would be great if she could make an album that she will forever know is a good representation of what she has to offer, the best that she could do, and an album she loves. I still really give Stevie such credit for not taking what would have been an big payday of millions of dollars to do an abbreviated version of Unleashed on the current Eagles tour. I guess it's hard to turn down a ton of money, and she did it. Almost immediately, she began work on new music. Luckily, from my perspective, I think she was approached at the completely wrong time about The Eagles tour. She hadn't even returned home yet from the final shows when talk of the Eagles pairing came up. That mistake of her being asked too soon is one I am grateful for, because I think if Stevie had been approached about it after having a month or two off, she would have been more tempted by the big payday. Imagine, it's said that Mick, John, and Lindsey were all agreeable to it. Stevie had bigger balls than all of them to turn it down!! Last edited by Nikolaj; 06-24-2010 at 01:34 AM.. |

I think it's possible! Oh- I remember, not afraid, that you like Linda R a lot. So you do know about the Jimmy Webb release on June 29, yes? Linda sings on track 13, a remake of Art Garfunkel's "ALL I KNOW" written by Webb. The bad news is that it appears it is a duet between Webb and Linda. Dang these guys! Webb also claims that Linda now is done, completely, with her career, no more recording or touring, and that her singing 'All I Know' for him was a huge favor- they're good friends.
