That story also made me really sad. Tears definatly welled up in my eyes.

My story also isn't very inspiring either, but here it is...
It was September of last year. I was stuck in traffic with my dad on the way to his house and Tusk came on the radio. My dad turned the volume way up and since I didn't feel like going deaf I paused my ipod and listened to the song. I really liked the song and my dad kept talking about it and how the USC marching band was on the song. I knew my stepmom had a Fleetwood Mac cd so I decided to put the song on my ipod. It was The Very Best of Fleetwood Mac. I ended up just putting all the songs on and I sat there and listened to them all. I was hooked. There wasn't a song I didn't like. After that I did some research on the band and I came across the Seven Wonders video form 1987. I fell in love with that song and whoever was singing. I thought she sounded amazing and was absolutly beautiful. I found out that that person was none other than Stevie Nicks. I just kept researching who she was and getting her music.

Throughout these months I found a role model in Stevie. She has allowed me to find myself. My real self. The first thing I started was writting in my journal every night. I haven't ever done that. I got really into music that I actually liked and I didn't care. I was always kinda ashamed of the music I listened to because I've never liked the type of music everyone else liked. In the 4th grade I loved Cher and Celine Dion and everyone made fun of me so I forced myself to like what everyone else liked. Eventually I just gave up music. Now I don't care what people think. You ask me who my favorite singer is I will tell you it is Stevie Nicks. She also got me back into my art. when I found out she drew and painted I just started back up again and she is my inspiration when it comes to my sketches. I got a keyboard and I'm learning how to play it.It's something I always wanted to do. I started wearing the clothes that I like. She taught me to embrace who I really am and I don't have to change for anyone.

Her music also got me through the ton of stress I have been feeling this year as a senior in high school. All the college stuff and constant homework kept me stressed pretty much all day everyday. Just going home and listening to her music just made me feel so much better. She has gotton me through so many hard times this year because she is always there if no one else is.
She is such a strong, unique, beautiful woman and I've never found anyone like her. There is no one like her. That is why she is my role model and I don't care what anyone says. I will forever dance around my room like a complete idiot to her music and I don't care.

There are such beautiful stories here, i love it !
Why she means so much...
I could write a lot here, but i think it's more about me than Stevie. She came in a moment of my life when i had noone to love, being a lonely person. And because of that, I've always related to a lot of idols, there weren't any time of my life when i wasn't a fan. I simply need it. Then, I found out that Stevie is "my match" . I'll never stop to love her, because, believe it or not, it's something so intense, that for once in my life, i almost think that destiny has something to do with all of this. (c'mon, Fleetwood Mac hasn't come in France since 1977 or so, and the exact year i become fan, they visit us ! DES-TI-NY )

What I really admire about Stevie is her individuality, and how she has stayed true to her image over the past decades. Even in the 70’s when she was criticized for being too ‘airy fairy’ as a songwriter, and in the 80’s for not being not fashionably hip (like Pat Benatar with her spandex and headbands - LOL), Stevie has continued writing music in her inimitable style and wearing what she damned well pleased! That she is generally held in higher esteem today than many of her female peers, and that she has been recognized as a fashion icon are testaments to her mojo!

On a more personal level, being gay, I’ve gotten inspiration from Stevie as she has not been afraid to be who she is. She inspires me to be true to my own self, and to look at the world – one that isn’t always easy to get by in especially in these depressing times – with more optimism and hope through her sense of the romantic. Certainly I’ve had hang-ups about being who I am, but one thing I’ve gotten from Stevie’s music is to ‘just chill’ – it’s never as bad as it seems (as she sings in ‘Think About It’).

Probably my favorite Stevie song is ‘Nightbird’. The lyrics and eerie atmosphere of it are just ‘so Stevie’ (with thanks also to Sandy Stewart of course for the excellent music). Yep, it is a sad song (written for her late friend Robin) but there parts that are hopeful. To me, ‘And when I call, will you walk gently through my shadow...’ has always been about having that someone who is willing to be ‘one’ with you through thick and thin. And as the song fades out, there’s the comforting line ‘Don’t be afraid…’ All in all, ‘Nightbird’ (at least how I interpret it) is about going through a difficult time but still managing to get through it, whether it’s by drawing strength from within yourself or by reaching out to another person.

Anyways, so that’s why I love our Stevie!

Is this a rhetorical question?
