One of Dave's twitter followers tweeted about the Perez Hilton article, and Dave retweeted it on his page:

This is sooo funny. I got sick of all the mystery surrounding the album, so I decided to send an email to Perez Hilton asking him to find out the scoop. I know he likes Stevie. Anyway, he emailed back asking for Dave's twitter information. Basically, Perez did not find out anything. He just printed the information that I told him and I guess verified some of the information by going to Dave's twitter's page. I'm glad he put the stuff up on his site. It only took him like 2.5 hours to get it up there, but I wanted more information.

I've been away for a while, so I may have missed something, but this is sounding more and more like a full-blown solo album, with Dave just producing and/or acting as a band member?

That's what Dave's latest Tweet is leading me to believe, as well. Though a 2 word response is hardly what I'd consider and end-all confirmation. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high... we'll see what ends up happening. Knowing Stevie, there will be a major personnel shakeup and schedule realignment any day now...

Well, let's not put that energy out there.

To be honest, I really think Stevie is going to go through with this, in its entirety, with Dave. And unlike Dallas Austin, or other short-lived producers in her past, Stevie has a history with Dave, and they have been through a lot of similar things in their careers, so there is a safety and a bond that exists between the two of them.

Dave Stewart is a douchey twerp (just ask Annie Lennox), and until he comes out and says/types/tweets anything resembling "Stevie's recording an album", whatever he says should be taken with a grain of salt.

(unless you're one of the people who still think the album is coming out this month, then, well... god help you)

I have believed from the beginning that Dave was producing solo material for Stevie, hoping that it may eventuate into a whole album and now I'm convinced this will be the case.
I don't consider for a moment that Stevie will fall out with Dave - he is an amiable person and this is his greatest asset as a producer - he is nurturing and encouraging of artists so Stevie will undoubtedly lap this treatment up. She's worked with some bullies in her time (no names mentioned) so I imagine she will respond well to Dave's enthusiasm, not to mention his creativity as an arranger/producer and brilliant musicianship.
As vague as Dave's comments have been, I have faith in this project and if he thinks the album sounds "amazing", I'm definitely on board. I'm as excited as hell about them working together and I actually think they'll wrap proceedings up fairly quickly. However, I'm also realistic enough to know that once things have been completed, it's likely to be (at least) another six months before anything is released. It would be wonderful if a single was issued late this year prior to the full album release but then that is simply wishful thinking.

I wonder who these "special people" are? Could it be the rest of our five fireflies? Doubtful, but I guess we shall hide and watch.

Wow!!! Now THAT'S an answer!! Well, if the album is finished by this month, then Dave is right, it could very well be out by this year.
