I think what SYW suffers most from is probably the most obvious... no Christine McVie.

I was a big cheerleader about "Buckingham Nicks II", but I have to say the SYW really needs some piano on it. There's just too much synthesized keyboard sounds and odd vocal effects. I dunno.... The overall album sound feels very chilly, with the only exception (off the top of my head) being "Say You Will", which is very warm.

Even my favorite song ("Goodbye Baby") would have been so much better supported by grand piano than the synth sound.

Don't get me wrong, I like the album very much- but with 18 songs you think there could have been a little less "weirdness" and one or two songs with some slow, beautiful piano.

Eh, I'm stilll listening to it anyways and trying to get into its "groove". Maybe I just need more time.

Lindseyrocks, I'm planning on getting into music myself, I plan on being a producer, I am a songwriter now, please don't tell me I don't have "ears" or anyone else doesn't just because they don't like what you like.

Like someone else said, get over yourself.

You've also got to realize that this is 2003... they're not going to try and sound like 1977. Being that Christine is out of the mix, the group as a whole have evolved into something different. My hubby told me that musically, it dosen't even sound like FM. I don't agree with him completely, but to an extent I do. And they even said themselves that their sound will be different. And think about it... I know that my own musical interests have changed in 12-15 years. I'm sure everyone in FM's to an extent has changed also. I personally enjoy the change. I think the whole album rocks.

I can find no fault whatsoever with Lindsey's production work on 'Say You Will.'
It's poppy and accessible when it needs to be, and it's edgy and offbeat when it needs to be.

Neither Lindsey nor Stevie dominates this album... both are a very solid presence.

Excellent work all around.
