Disagree....he's neither way better or better. He's a no doubt a good drummer and fits perfectly with his band's music. Phil Collins is more technically proficient. Phil also has one of those most identifiable sounds and styles. He also contributes singing and songwriting.

I don't have a good new statement to make...someone else can take over.

I never cared for Phil as a drummer, but I do like the songs from Tarzan (hey, I was 9 when it came out).

New statement: If a second Buckingham Nicks album had been made, it probably would have been a much bigger hit than it's predecessor.

Sorry to go off topic here.....I don't know if you've heard much of Phil's stuff or if you've just heard the radio hits being as young as you are and not being a fan of his....He's still a great drummer, but he didn't tend to show off much in his solo career which is more pop based. Oddly enough I am a big fan and I only first heard the Tarzan songs within the past several months (apart from the big hit). I had never seen the movie until then, but I really like the tunes. I digress....In Genesis, which was initially a progressive rock band and later included more of a pop sound, there's plenty of great drumming. They had lots extended instrumental passages and what not. He was also in a band called Brand X where he shows off his chops a lot too. Just FYI.

Possibly, but they might have been encouraged to pursue a country-rock, early-period Eagles-influenced sound more fully than they did with Mac. The Fleetwood-McVie-McVie commitment to the blues and Christine's unusual voice complicated the mix of the band's combined talents in unexpected ways.

New statement: "Never Forget" is a great little tune that deserved a more imaginative arrangement, especially in terms of the guitar solo, which is uncharacteristically dull.

Disagree - I love it as it is.
On their next tour, FM should play a few songs from TITN.

Agree. Or rather Lindsey should play some of his. Never bother with Stevie's.

New statement: Tusk has dated well and doesn't sound stuck in the 70s.

Agree. IMO, a great album will sound timeless no matter when you listen (and some other greats do sound a tad dated, like some of Slayer's stuff, but that's fine), and Tusk doesn't really sound like any era to me (maybe it has a bit to do with it's strangeness).

New statement: Next time the Mac go on tour, they should try to do the Buckingham Nicks song Frozen Love

Agree! Definatley

New statement: Prove Your Love is one of the most beautiful FM tracks recorded. The whole band work together to make it phenomenal?

Of course. Tusk doc's 10 times better. The studio footages are priceless (Lindsey, don't you know that I love you?), just as the live performances...everything shines on it.

Now i'm gonna admit that I actually never saw Rosebud, so, yes, definitely Tusk doc . (and thank God for this thread, I'm bored)

Say You love me should'nt be sung anymore.

Rosebud is good, but very short, only half an hour, but the Rhiannon and I'm So Afraid on there are to die for.

Disagree. Say You Love Me is a great Christine song, but having Lindsey and Stevie perform it gives it a new flavor, kinda like Big Love going acoustic.

New statement: Lindsey should go back to wearing that white shirt from Say You Will

Agree. I gave it a chance with an open mind but it only broke my heart. For me, the banjo and having John sing was the best new flavour it's been given

Agree! I was never crazy for the studio version at all, but acoustic rules.

New statement: if there was any Mac song that'd actually be appropriate for a wedding, Songbird would be it

I never could hear John's vocals in that...he's certainly not very loud. What part is he singing anyway? I couldn't even tell what he's singing by looking at the video.
