Lightbulb Yep...

GYOW started off a lil bad, but it got better. I was surprised to see Stevie bundled like it was snowing and Lindsey wearing his thin nothing leather jacket!! LOL He must like the cold.

I was bored during Rhiannon and GYOW tho...I liked PK and SYW tho!! I'm SOOOOOOOO sick of the oldies!! This new album is so funky and fresh, it ROCKS and I'm praying to GOD they TEAR IT UP in concert!! They HAVE to do Everybody Finds Out..or I'll DIE, this is BEGGING to be done in concert!! KICK IT STEVIE!!

Rhiannon needs to fly away to the sky and GYOW needs to Go his Own Way. LMAO!! *yawn* Sorry, folks, but I'm excited about this new album!!!!!! EEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

"Rhiannon" was just AWFUL!!!! Did anyone notice that Stevie is now singing an even LOWER note on the chorus?!?! They really need to stop playing this song, as she obviously cannot do it justice.

"Say You Will" was great! The ending was very cool. I wish they would have used all of the Today show for all new stuff. Lindsey could have picked ANY of his SYW songs (even "Murrow...") and it would have been better than "Go Your Own Way". Ditto with Stevie. I would have rather heard "Silver Girl" than that stinky performance of "Rhiannon" any day...

From all the publicity they've done so far it looks like the following oldies will be on the tour:

Tusk
Rhiannon
Go Your Own Way
Landslide
The Chain

UGH! Too bad. "The Chain" without Christine?!?!?!?! Oh well.....

I *SO* agree with you. This new album ROCKS. They best be playin' some Everybody Finds Out and Smile At You or i'm gonna like, die, which would mean that two people will die at their concerts....lol. As much as I love the old stuff I'd much rather hear some stuff they usually don't do live and the material from the new album. I do hope Lindsey rocks out with some Big Love and Go Insane. That will make me happy :-) However, I think the reason why they do the old stuff is to please those fans who grew up listening to it. I just hope they do a nice mix of songs and include a lot of this new album.....things off this album i'm really not interested in hearing live....Silver Girl and Running Through the Garden (i only like the ending of RTTG). Anyway, i'm w/ya Wonder!!!

I wish we could somehow get the word to them that we want to hear the NEW stuff!

I didn't get to see SYW this morning because I had to leave, but I did see GYOW and PK and Rhiannon. I don't expect much from Rhiannon anymore. That song has been a shell of it's former self for quite a long time.
They sounded so much better on the two new songs than the two old ones, so that really tells them something.

I liked that some people there had posters there with "Peacekeeper" on it and stuff, not just old stuff.

We want the new stuff!

Speaking of new stuff....I wonder if we'll get to see Stevie in pants this tour...lol...I actually dig the black pants with the shoes she has on in The Making of SYW. New album...new look? Glad she lost the frizzy hair this morning. Combined with the wind and the general cold that was happening this morning up here, she could have housed some birds in that. I wonder if her hair dresser read these boards?!? LOL

I wish Stevie would rock out on "Rhiannon"...jeeze it is so boring now!!! C'mon Stevie, we know you can do it!!!
She might as well not sing it anymore b/c it is quite...bad now.

Default The Today Show Performance

Hi All,

I would like to add that if any of you here who are performers have ever played outside when it's freezing cold (I have) it really does do some weird things to guitars, vocal chords, drum heads, basses, etc. and, just tweaks with the general sound of things. When it's warmer, soundwaves move through the air differently than cold weather - it can be a bit disorienting to settle in to.

I think the clam at the beginning of GYOW was due to Lindsey's fingers not doing what his brain was telling them to as quickly as they normally would have because of the cold.

There are streamable clips of each song on www.msnbc.com . . .

Also LOVED the live ending of SYW.

For you guitar players out there, I thought SYW would have been even better if Lindsey had capo'd on the first fret, and used the suspended "e" string on top to ring through the entire chorus as the chords continue up that scale. Makes it even "chimeier" - try it!

CZ

I saw it on the internet. Well yes the sound quality of internet video files is of course not good and it was cold and all- but whatever the reason was: Lindsey sounded awful imo. He even did not try to do GYOW in the high chorus notes. But even the lowdown version did not fit. His harmonies on SYW dito and Peacekeeper... Well I would say that was not his day. Stevies singing was fine imo, I liked her performance.
I hope they do better on the tour and we get to see a video from that too! But from this one I am disappointed.

P.S. Hey CZ just read your post. Hope you're right and it was just the cold weather!

I really hope so too...they didn't sound too good. And Stevie sounded very flat on the chorus of "Say You Will"...

Speaking of Stevie, why was she pulling a Michael Jackson with the one glove deal? And she was really bundled up eh?! She must have been wearing quite a lot under that coat because it mader her look a bit..big I loved it though, Stevie always puts a smile on my face.

Ah, I love these people.

Sorry, but Lindsey not doing Go Your Own Way at concerts would be like Clapton not doing Layla. Has to be done.

Oh, God, I hope not! Jake, are you talking about the Dateline interview and the clips from earlier this week? I don't remember seeing or hearing Big Love, but they better leave that out this time. With Red Rover and Say Goodbye and possibly Love Minus Zero, hes' got no reason to do the same tired retread of Big Love/Go Insane. Ugh. I'll be really disappointed if he does that again.

As for the Today show - they seemed to enjoy playing the newer songs better than the old ones. I think SYW was the best song they performed today. I agree that they seemed very bored with Rhiannon. They need to liven it up or drop it. I'd rather see something with some energy behind it. GYOW wasn't great, but I agree that the unexpected cold was a factor. The wind looked to be blowing straight at them when they started singing.

And I agree, Stevie looked great! Much better than she did on the earlier interviews this week. And she looked so happy!

wow, lol, GYOW was awful!! lindsey wasn't really sounding his best today....i'm hoping it's because of the early morning/cold combo. i liked Peacekeeper, and Rhiannon was ok. i just wish she would get a little more into it! and of course, i had to leave before SYW, so i didn't get to hear it!and i just *knew* that's the song they were going to play; i really wanted to hear it!! lmao, Stevie's huge scarf was funny!! she always makes me laugh.
