Father forgive me, for I have sinned. How could I be so ungrateful? And you know, maybe we will get really lucky and she will pull Landslide out of the vault too! Oh it is such a rarity, I think I would die on the spot if she sang that!

At these prices I'll be real shocked if it sells out.She should come to the Oakdale here in Wallingford.Tickets at that place are a big joke.they are up in the 100's and the artist was on stage approxx 70minutes. I cant remember the last time I was at a show at this place. the last concert I got to see there.Maybe I think it was Wynnona.

I would not mind Stevie performing at The Oakdale Thearte and it will be closer to for me as well than the casino I do love the casinos because you can do things before and after the show and not fight traffic either. I think stevie show will sell out I am not sure how many seats mgm grand at foxwoods holds i want to say 5,000 but not sure. Last time I saw a show at oakdale was on Sept.18,2001 Rufus featuring Chaka Khan there Reunion tour with Earth Wind and Fire got to go backstage and meet with Chaka Khan with my mom won a contest on chakas website a contest they were doing for each show and I won the contest for the oakdale show which was awesome my mom is a die hard chaka khan rufus fan and she was amazing to meet.

the thing about foxwoods is they limit the performers time so all shows are scaled down

They say they don't do that, I've asked and was told that they never limit they length of a show. But I've also been told that that is standard procedure for a casino. Most shows are allowed an hour and a half. But I've seen shows at the casinos that ran longer than that. Both KISS and Trans Siberian Orchestra ran for about 2 and half hours. Dolly Parton made a big deal of saying during her show that she was told to hurry things up so people would get back out to the slot machines. Apparently she was not happy about being told this so she said something during her shows. She was then spoken to after the show because she's not supposed to say that.

That sucks,It sounds like they have same problem that the Oakdale performance times .70 mins or under. Thanks Skuncles I hope not,Her shows runs about 90 plus minutes. If that the case I hope Fleetwood Mac on their next tour will stick with Mohegan Sun. Also I guess there will be no Edge walk at this show too.also the security probably wont know what the format of her shows at the time of her appearance and she will get psssst off and tell them where to go when the crowd comes to the stage.we will see. One thing about the Oakdale is they have a meet and greet there. I had a chance to meet some artists over the years there.

I believe the Foxwoods venues have a time limit of 80 minutes. I saw Dolly Parton at the MGM Grand a night or 2 before Obama was elected, (got a third row and super cheap, so why not) and it was 80 minutes, solid. I've seen Diana Ross a bunch of times at Foxwoods/MGM, and most shows were 80 minutes, I was bummed out at the 64 minute concert about 3 years ago.
Many seemed to comment on the 'go to tent' Mac teleprompters I quoted on the Mac tour. Dolly's were even more detailed ('join together at center-stage' during 'Islands In The Stream')- Dolly's likeable, and I figured she was one of the old gals I should see since I never had, though I can't say I'm a huge fan, and she was good. I admired that she stayed on stage the entire time and didn't change clothes, but I found her between-song chatter irritating, after a while. She talked so much she easily could have fit in another 4 songs into her show, but I gotta say, it was still a longer set, song-wise, than Stevie has done since the 'Enchanted' or 'TISL' tours. Does anyone think maybe it's time to cut the intro to 'Edge' short? I kind of think so, it takes up so much time, yet I do like the drama of it all, yet with the Edge walk, that song can run about 16 minutes, and that's a huge chunk of time in a not-long concert. I appreciated the long-intro to 'SB' being shortened. Last edited by Nikolaj; 05-05-2010 at 07:19 PM.. |

I wonder, seriously, about the Stevie performance with Mac at the Mohegan Sun in 2009, the first time they played, I skipped their second show months later. I clearly saw- and heard- from the second row- stage left, Stevie miss the ending of 'Silver Springs'-- the call and response, if you will- 'give me just a chance, was I just a fool'--- all that she got out was 'chance' and 'fool' and her lips were like stuttering, and she just barely got out 'chance' and 'fool'-- Yet, I saw the same clip on youtube, from the Mohegan Sun, and while you see grimacing a bit, the full lines are 'sung'. I wonder if the person who posted on youtube was sitting by the soundboard, and the glitch I clearly saw got fixed via some kind of computer voice recognition system? Mick's comment recently about 'being tied into this huge production' got me thinking (again) about it, and I did see and hear what I saw and heard, from the second row- she missed the lines. At first when I saw it on youtube, I thought, maybe it was just how 'the sound bounces off the wall at you' but then got thinking, there has to be a reason they never once changed the order of the songs- it's all timed down to the nano-second and if anything gets badly messed up on stage, the soundboard has the show and notes and words all maybe computerized with the teleprompter and all sequential, to sweeten the sound and fix flubs? Over-ride what is sung on stage with the computerized soundboard perfect sound, pre-recorded? I really don't know. It's confusing. Interesting about Dolly, though. |

As far as Stevie goes, was at both of the Mac shows last year at Mohegan, the first one I was stage left about three rows back. I didn't notice anything odd on her part. But I will say that depending on where you are in the arena, you may hear things better than others. I saw Martina McBride at Mohegan this past March, I've seen her several times before and she always sounds great, however at this show she didn't sound quite the same. I saw clips on YouTube of the show and she sounded perfect. It was just where I was sitting and how the sound was hitting me. I don't believe Stevie has ever sung to a track in concert, I've seen her screw up too many times for that to be the case. There is a reason though why she brings her background singers with her. Sharon or Lori tend to fill in her gaps, so while she may have clearly missed a lyric, the girls are there to fill in for her. So on playback, it will sound ok. |

I love Dolly,She was one of my first concerts,I have not get a chance to see lately. The last time I seen her live was at the Oakdale back in 1977 when it was a dome with a center rotating stage.Country pop singer Mac Davis opened for her that night.I still have the tour book and a cassette boot of the show somewere. This place would of been a nice stop for Stevie and Lindsey back in the Buckingham-Nicks days. also the Nicks-Henley tour in 2005.
