I just posted a few things in the Fleetwood Mac forum. Most of them are from the Midnight Special. Does anyone have any better quality versions of them?

Just wanted to let everyone know to be sure and check out my thread in the Rumours forum if you've been looking for an excellent transfer of Buckingham Nicks from vinyl... I've uploaded one (in lossless WAV file format) that is the finest I've heard yet. I promise you won't be disappointed!

Sounds like an awesome project. Then, we should probably add all the other demos to it somehow and try to find the greatest quality for each amongst ourselves and make sure we all have THAT one. Then, if someone comes along with a better copy, any of us could compare and if it is indeed better - upgrade.

A big project that will be ongoing, but once started, should not be too hard to accomplish over time. And would be a great asset to the Stevie community.

Well after a couple days of playing around with "What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done For You?", I have decided to post two different attempts at polishing it up. I probably created about 5 different "enhanced" versions, but most I was unhappy with (one of which was about an hour of work I accidentally lost from a crash in my program... GRR!.. LOL!).

The first version I'm posting is essentially just a boosted and slightly re-equalized version... there is just a little noise reduction used for the intro (but the rest of the track is free from any):
http://www.multiupload.com/K7IPJH3PUB
or
http://hotfile.com/dl/39289393/feac9...anced.wav.html

The second version was one that has been through tons of different processors and equalizations... I kept feeling like I was getting close to something pretty good, but that it needed some more tweaking. This version was also one where I was trying to create more of a standard stereo image (so it sounded mixed the way most commercial tracks would be). Most notably, the vocals are more centered here:
http://www.multiupload.com/0G7BPV6J70
or
http://hotfile.com/dl/39290381/369de...ion_2.wav.html

If the second version is too different, or changes the feel of the track too much from what you're used to, I recommend sticking with the first version I posted above. Either way, I hope that it's at least somewhat an improvement over the original!

I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on these from those who have listened to both... and also if they have any additional recommendations.

Enjoy!

Is it possible to make the "stay away" demo more audible???

Just thought I'd ask. I am very well adapted to the bad sounding demos, however, Stay Away actually seems like it could be clear....it's just low volumed or something....any fixies on that perhaps?

Here is my first attempt... please note the source is a 160 bitrate mp3. I first compressed the original a lot, so that the piano strokes wouldn't be much louder than the vocals... I was hoping this would make your ears pay more attention to the vocals. I then off-centered the original track's left and right channels, overlaying those onto the compressed and boosted audio, which created a false stereo image. I added a little reverb and used some noise reduction as well:

Hope this sounds a little better to you anyways!

I've always used FLAC Frontend and never had any problems with it.
