Default How would you sequence the songs on the new album?

Here's my proposal, though this might change once I've heard the real CD tomorrow.

WTWCT
Thrown Down
Peacekeeper
Say you Will
Steal your Heart away
Destiny Rules
Red Rover
Running through the Garden
Murrow
Smile at You
Miranda
Everybody Find Out
Bleed to Love Her
Silver Girl
Come
Illume
Say Goodbye
Goodbye Baby

I like the sweet songs (SYW & SYHA) towards the start, most rockers in the middle, mellow ones near the end. (IMO Illume is too early on the album - it reminds me of Bombay Sapphires and belongs near the end.) Miranda & EFO have this bounce that puts them together.

Also, I like the idea of alternating Stevie & Lindsey songs.

How would you sequence this album?

I would have put Come, Red Rover, Miranda, Murrow, and, perhaps, Running Through the Garden in a subset at the end with a warning that says "Note: although these songs are brilliant, they are also experimental and not mainstream. Consequently, if you want great, mainstream pop, listen only to the other 13 songs you have just heard - if you want progressive LB production that is sometimes seemingly and gloriously quirky and out on a limb, then and only then proceed to these last five songs!!!"

Maybe that way, the reviewers would have liked the album better. I think the way it is now, the critics cannot get past the barrage of new ideas presented in the beginning of the record before getting the FM sugar they are used to (SYHA, SYW, TD, BTLH, GBB, etc.).

Having said that, I like the record the way it is because I pretty much have little respect for critics, especially those like the ones I have read on this record who comment on stuff they apparently have not even really checked out. I also think alot of them are lazy in that they read other critics' opinions then change the words - sort of like they did in school to avoid plagerism charges. Hey - wait a minute, now I sound like a critic ?

Yeah, but it seems the critics aren't too crazy about the safer songs like "Silver Girl" either. I'm surprised they like Illume, as it is a bit free-flow in style.

I think the critics decided long ago that they'd applaud Lindsey pushing a song to the limit as long as it's catchy & not pushed too too far (The Ledge, 2nd Hand News) and Christine would be their darling. Now they love to paint Stevie as earth mother and sometimes lovable flake. (They seemed annoyed by this "quality" when she weighed more, but I guess these things are charming to the critics if the performer is aging as they want her to.) And maybe it's slipping me, but I don't think I've seen one perecptive reference to her vocals on a specific song. There's a big difference in vocals between RTTG and Goodbye Baby, which is another reason I would keep them apart on the album.

I'm not sure I think RTTG is so edgy that it should be moved to the end with the others. I love it, but it sounds like standard 80s rock to me.

Anyone else have thoughts on this? I'd like to burn a Say You Will CD with a new sequence. Would anyone include the two songs on the Limited Edition? (Perhaps Not Make Believe instead of Silver Girl?)
