Most of these are pretty recent, others are definitely not, but I've only been really watching movies for the past decade or so and my list reflects that.
Also I have a slightly twisted sense of humor. I think this list reflects that as well. 1. Quills 2. Gladiator 3. Ratatouille 4. The Big Lebowski 5. Fight Club 6. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 7. Brotherhood of the Wolf (Le Pacte de Loups) 8. Bubba Ho-Tep 9. The Departed 10. 3:10 to Yuma (2007) 11. Being John Malkovich 12. Milk 13. The Cell 14. The Boondock Saints 15. The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari 16 Clay Pigeons 17. The Breakfast Club 18. Up 19. Casualties of War 20. Dances With Wolves 21. Catch Me If You Can 22. A Mighty Wind 23. Saved! 24. The Robe/Demetrius and the Gladiators (sort of a tie, but to me these movies are inseperable) 25. Untamed Heart Honorable Mentions: Zodiac, Tropic Thunder, Philadelphia, anything Pixar, Army of Darkness, The Libertine, A League Of Their Own, A Perfect World, Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves, The Sandlot, Serial Mom, The Shawshank Redemption |

Dani - I LOVE that you included this!
How did this thread pass me by?! I'm doing a film phD and this is one of the questions I always, always get asked... So here's my list! Such lists sometimes annoy me because people often put on what they think they Sshould like rather than what they actually like. It's your list! I think it's perfectly possible to have a mix of both... This is so hard to narrow downa and I'm not totally sure of the order of these as I get out of the top 10 but there they are: 1. The Silence Of The Lambs (Jonathan Demme, 1991) 2. Almost Famous (Cameron Crowe, 2000) 3. Double Indemnity (Billy Wilder, 1944) 4. When Harry Met Sally (Rob Reiner, 1989) 5. All About Eve (Joseph Mankiewicz, 1950) 6. To Die For (Gus Van Sant, 1995) 7. Back To The Future (Robert Zemeckis, 1985) 8. Thelma And Louise (Ridley Scott, 1991) 9. 10 Things I Hate About You (Gil Junger, 1999) 10. Love Me Or Leave Me (Charles Vidor, 1955) 11. Rear Window (Alfred Hitchcock, 1954) 12. Superman (Richard Donner, 1978) 13. Stand By Me (Rob Reiner, 1986) 14. Bringing Up Baby (Howard Hawks, 1938) 15. Mary Poppins (Robert Stevenson, 1964) 16. The Conversation (Francis Ford Coppola, 1974) 17. Bugsy Malone (Alan Parker, 1976) 18. Moulin Rouge! (Baz Lhrmann, 2001) 19. Overboard (Gary Marshall, 1987) 20. Gone With The Wind (Victor Fleming, 1939) 21. The Goonies (Richard Donner, 1985) 22. 500 Days Of Summer (Marc Webb, 2009) 23. Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy (Adam McKay, 2004) 24. Chinatown (Roman Polanski, 1974) 25. Empire Records (Allan Moyle, 1995) Honourable mention to: St. Elmo's Fire (Joel Schumacher, 1985)
