Wow, they are still at it!! They've been working together since February 22nd, and it really looks like they are indeed working on an album. And Dave pretty much confirmed that a few weeks ago. I did not expect any of this to happen from just writing one song together, to writing multiple songs, to now recording all of them...Stevie is on her way back!

I was listening to Missionary Man this morning on my iPod. I would love Dave to produce a rockin, up-tempo song like he did with this but it looks like it's leaning more towards adult contemporary with our girl...

It is only one song ...after all "Everyday" was totally AC but there were a few rockers on TISL.

Could Stevie also be working with producer Glen Ballard?
Kristin Burns, a photographer, just tweeted 3 hours ago that she was w/ Dave Stewart, Glen Ballard & Stevie Nicks. In addition, Kristin posted on twitter @DaveStewart, "I'm working w/ Stevie Nicks now" (3/18).....possible new photo's for a CD>publicity shots>>>>This is getting more and more interesting. Don't you just love that new rumours & buzz are spread via social networking in real time? Last edited by Christopher; 03-19-2010 at 08:30 PM.. |

Ah... the picture is starting to come together...
Take a look at the "splash" page at Glen's site. Does that room look familiar? http://www.glenballard.com/ From the looks of things (in the gallery), he and Dave Stewart are, like, BFF's, so it's no coincidence that he is hanging out at Glen's house. So what could the three of them be up to? Could it be that Glen asked them to come over his house to write songs for some other artists that he is currently producing? Could they be working on a Stevie project? Could they be forming a supergroup? Who else is working at Glen's house? Since Glen is unquestionably a big time hitmaker, whatever they are working on has to be BIG. |

I sincerely hope Glen Ballard is not involved in the Dave/Stevie studio sessions. He is a monstrous producer - just about ****s up everything he has a hand in (look no further than Annie Lennox's last studio album, "Songs Of Mass Destruction", for evidence). His production work is dense and overly-busy, often resulting in a tedious, exhausting listen.
If I remember correctly, Dave and Glen co-own a recording studio so perhaps this is why Glen is present? Let's hope he's done nothing more than make Stevie a coffee and stroke her ego. |

Most notably Rock a Little, Other Side Of The Mirror, and Trouble In Shangri La. Personally, I like the idea of Stevie working with people other than the usual suspects. ![]() |

Louie, I do concede your point to a degree. Some of the tracks on Songs Of Mass Destruction - "Dark Road", "Smithereens" and "Big Sky" - are goregous and feature sparse, inventive arrangements but this has more to do with Annie and less with Glen Ballard (refer to Annie's previous album Bare as confirmation). I honestly believe he stamped the life out of most tracks on the album and ensured a sense of melody was almost eradicated throughout. Glen's production style is about as subtle as dropping a grand piano on a mouse.
Whilst I am fond of Trouble In Shangri-La as an album, I do concede that some of the production is a little on the dense side and I want this dispensed with next time around. I welcome Dave Stewart's lush style (synths, strings etc) but he intuitively knows when to pull back and ultimately, prefers a simple approach. Let's hope Annie wanders into proceedings at some stage. ![]() |

Wow, I find it still a bit hard to believe but could we actually be witnessing the birth of a new Stevie-album here?
