LOL, thank you for the laugh, almost had coffee all over my monitor and keyboard, but would have been worth it.

I must admit, I was expecting a rock sound after that first line... but we all know we love Stevie songs that ROCK and those tender ballads we all fall in love with, so I am just happy that she is in the studio actually writing and singing and making demos. That is a huge turn around from what she was saying several years ago.

From the short snippet, I think the song sounds great. Really like Stevie's voice on it, and Dave in the background is good, I've long thought the absence (often) of male backup vocals in her solo work isn't a good thing. Sharon&Lori are great singers, but I think a male voice, or male voices, in the background, are better to highlight Stevie's voice.
Go, Dave! Fast is better when it comes to recording! (especially now, if she spends too long in the studio, we won't get new music til she's 65!)

I sent him a tweet asking if they'll be the new EurythNicks. Somehow (and I can't see why... ), he's not responded. It was impossibly corny, but I couldn't resist. Hopefully, I didn't piss him off.

I'm really pleased with the demo - not so much the content, but that there's something physically new from her. I found it a little lacking, but it's in the early stages and I only listened to it once, so I'm hoping it'll catch on. Still, I'm excited to where this could lead.

For a demo, this recording sounds fantastic! Who knew that a week ago one twitter update from Dave Stewart would lead to us hearing something that they just recorded, and, they are working so well together that they are putting an album together, from scratch, at break-neck speed! I'm glad Stevie is finally embracing a concept that a lot of younger artists have been doing for years...go into the studio with a collaborator, lock the door and don't come out until you're done. That's why this is getting done so quickly, because they are both on a creative journey that's still rolling!

My feeling is that this is indeed for Stevie as a solo effort, but if they do go the way of Robert Plant and Allison Krauss, that would be very good too. They sold millions of albums, won multiple Grammys, and people are still loving the album!

This is very cool- it's officially the first new song that has popped up since I've been a fan since 2003, which is VERY VERY cool! I look forward to hearing more from Stevie- I am so glad that she has apparently gained that inspirational spark that is getting her back in the studio. I am proud of her, and I hope that the creative juices continue flowing. I look forward to seeing where this material leads!!! Did she write this song?

While I certainly share your sentiments, I think it's important to remember we just have a tiny snippet of ONE demo. If all we'd gotten before TISL was a snippet of the demo for "Too Far From Texas," I'm sure we'd all be pretty pissed and frightened too. And look how great that album turned out!

Just think of it this way. You walk into a store and are looking for a shirt. But all the salesperson will show you is one button from the shirt. And you're expected to make your decision from that one button whether you like the whole shirt or not. Of course you have no idea... because you know nothing about the rest of the garment.

Just look at the history of Stevie's demos vs what they turned into in the end, too. Sisters Of The Moon was just a meandering piano ballad... and look how fierce it turned out to be! Gypsy was a total turd as a demo... and boy did it ever blossom! My point with all of this is that there's still hope, kids.
