I just got back from watching the new Tim Burton film "Alice In Wonderland" today and saw it in 3d at my IMAX theater and I just loved it. Through the whole movie I was wondering, "What would Stevie think of this film?" I know that she would like it a lot. I've got to say they didn't stick with the original book very well. It was a whole different story all together. Johnny Depp is one of the cutest Mad Hatters I've ever seen! LOL! Anyway, I was singing the song "Alice" in my car on the way home and humming it a little in the theater. Her song would've been so perfect at the end credits of the film. I was sitting in my seat smiling like the "cat". In awe of the beauty of the film and just wondering "What would Stevie think?" When I saw the caterpillar I thought of Dave Stewart sitting on top of it in the Tom Petty video for "Don't come around Here No More." And I was thinking of Tom Petty too and that creepy grin he had. It was weird. It's like a connection between Tom Petty and Johnny Depp. I guess it's because they worked together in "The Great Wide Open Video." Boy, I think everyone has some sort of connection in a way. What do you think?

I'm very excited to see this movie, I bet the song would have been good over the credits.

I just got back from seeing "Alice" and I didn't love it. I've been wanting to see this since it was announced and I was very disappointed. I was expecting it to be more fun and less gloomy. I found it kind of boring. Johnny Depp even didn't seem to throw his usually gusto into it. The only person on the screen that seemed to having fun was Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen.
I don't really know the Alice story at all, everything I know comes from the Jefferson Airplane song "White Rabbit", Tom Petty's "Don't Come Around Here No More" video and Stevie's "Other Side Of The Mirror" album. Based on that and Tim Burton's other stuff I was expecting more. |

I thought the girl who played young-Alice looked just like Stevie.

Also, did anyone notice the "It would be best to keep your visions to yourself" line? Coincidence or direct Stevie reference?? ![]()

Yes, I heard that line loud and clear. I imagine it was a quote from one of the books, and a coincidental Stevie reference.

It isn't from one of the books.

Yeah, it would make sense, but I recently read the books and I that line never stood out to me, so I googled it after you suggested it and it only pulled up a handful of pages all referencing the line in the movie.
