Currently reading "The Piano Teacher" by Janice Y K Lee - quite lovely so far.

Up next, either "The Sunne in Splendour" by Sharon Kay Penman or "The Weight of Silence" by Heather Gudenkauf.

Finally gave up trying to wade through Richard Price's "Freedomland," because...ugh. BORING. First book in a long time that I just couldn't be bothered to finish. Wiki'd the ending instead.
i'm reading this right now~ i like it so far~ the hubby bought me jackie collins new one "poor little bitch girl"~

Just finished:

The Glass Castle; Jeannette Walls

Ray of the Star; Laird Hunt (this one was pretty weird, hard to understand, and I don't think I totally understood the ending. Has anyone else read this one?)

I'm still muddling through The Omnivore's Dilemma

and soon to start City of Thieves; David Benioff

Finished Three Junes. Good family story, not too syrupy but not too bitter either.

Just started The Thirteenth Tale for our new bookclub at work. Like it so far, it's intriguing. We'll see how the book club goes.

Gotta clear my head before bedtime.

Right now, if it isn't required reading, I'm not looking at it, but I guess I should pick up some McCarthy when I get the chance?

I'm wondering if I can trust you since the time you recommended I read Nabokov. I just read Pale Fire about a month ago. As soon as I saw his name on the syllabus it was like, "dis bitch "

I will neverrrrrr love him, sorry. As long as McCarthy isn't into confusing bs about fictional ex-kings, we're cool.
