I really adore Fleetwood Mac, and was brought up with their music. However, for me nobody will ever beat Kate Bush. I've been really into her music since I was about 11 (whilst I've been around FM's longer, I didn't start listening to them properly until I was about 13) and I think she's the greatest female artist.

Also up there for me would be Tori Amos, Florence Welch (of Florence + The Machine), Peter Gabriel and Bat For Lashes.

Lucky you! I was going to get some for the Edinburgh date, but decided to wait it out and so I'm seeing her at Evolution Festival in Newcastle instead. I'd much rather see her headlining though; that way, she'll have more time to play songs!

as far as music goes, not as intense as SN but i own just about every cd/dvd from

Joan Jett. P!nk. Prince. and Motley Crue.

But i am an intense fan of movies like Halloween, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Nightmare on Elm Street.

I collect alot of action figures, dolls, posters and stuff from these movies

Me too! I could start my own Netflix with my personal horror DVD collection, but I won't, because they're MINEALLMINE. I also collect posters & action figures & suchlike. My current fav is my 18 inch motion-activated talking Pinhead dolly. He's awesomesauce.

And I collect books and other goodies from my fav authors.

But, anyway, when it comes to music specifically:

My largest collection is definitely my FM-related stash. But I love a lot of different music, and one of my favorite things to do is to go to shows. There have been several artists that I love enough that I have traveled out of state and/or country to see, like Leonard Cohen, Tori Amos, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. I also have memorabilia collections for each of those artists. Just nowhere near as big as my Mac collection.

I would also travel wherever necessary to see anything Mike Patton related, so I've been incredibly angsty over the Faith No More reunion tour, as I've been way too broke to fly overseas to see them. Fortunately, I hear they are finally going to do a US leg this summer, so now I won't have to cry myself to sleep anymore.

But if you're reading this, General Patton (and of course you are, because where else would you spend your time, except on a Fleetwood Mac fan forum?), Bucharest can't love you more than I do, so you better get your ass over here for sure.

I love a lot of other bands, too, but can't think of any others that I would break my neck to see.

Oh, and I saw the fabulousness that is Morris Day and the Time in Canadia, but that was just sheer luck, since that was the weekend I was in Toronto to see Leonard Cohen. Best weekend ever maybe? I think yes.

All the same, baby. All the same.

Well, after seeing the concert of 15 Dec in Brisbane I almost couldn't listen to anything on the radio without thinking about FM... until "The Price Of Love" by Bryan Ferry came on! Lately I've been returning to normality and listening to music on my favourite radio station (which regularly plays FM and Roxy Music) without pining for FM... although I'll admit the volume's always turned up when FM come on! (And another thing - one presenter on the late night shift always refers to FM as "The Mighty Fleetwood Mac" after playing any of their songs! I love it every time he says it! )
So, back to the question - no! But some that come close, at least lately if not usually, are:

John Lennon (& The Beatles, although lately I can't help but think of JL's solo work whenever I hear them, and how much more I enjoy that over the fab four)
Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music
Sting & The Police
The Doors
Dire Straits
Toto
The Moody Blues
ELO
Billy Joel
The Motels (I only discovered just how awesome they are very recently)

Damn, this list feels so incomplete!

Oh excuse me, Amy Grant's limo driver is asking me to move my tent out of the middle of her driveway so that they can drive through. Hey maybe she'll WAVE to me, this time!!!
I have to ask, what were you doing in Amy Grant's driveway!!?? I love her! I have really eclectic music tastes, and Amy Grant is one of the artists I'm crazy about. I didn't really get seriously into Fleetwood Mac until college, so growing up in middle school and high school it was all about Amy. I was very active in my church's youth group and her music was so important in my life. I got a chance to meet her in 2004, and it was definitely one of the highlights of my life so far. She's great!

I can draw a lot of parallel's to what I like about Stevie's music and Amy's music: great songwriting, unique voices, and music and lyrics that really connect with me on an emotional level.

I do appreciate most of the artists you al have listed as well--primarily Tom Petty and U2.

I own everything available on cd with Billy Mackenzie's voice on it (he was front man of the Associates).

The other list of artists whose work I follow without fail would be long. Here are some whose work I not only continue to follow but whose back catalogue I have pretty well stocked:

Morrissey/The Smiths
Pet Shop Boys
Scritti Politti
Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music
Bernard Sumner's bands: Joy Division, New Order, Electronic, Bad Lieutenant
Erasure -- even though their post-Pop! stuff can be spotty
Kate Bush
Iris Dement
Public Enemy (ish. may have missed some stuff in the last few years--and their last good album was He Got Game!)
Michael Jackson

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

^^ David that's one cool action figure. Think he could beat G.I. Joe in a fair fight?
