To the best of my knowledge this is the earliest audience shot Stevie solo show in circulation. The quality leaves a lot to be desired but the show itself is great. I believe someone mentioned recently about the VERY long snake stuffed animal Stevie received at the end of Gypsy during this show...very cute moment where she drags it across the stage to the side and comes back to the mic to say "thank you...I love my snake!" After watching Stand Back from Toronto '89, pop over here and check out this Stand Back...one of my absolute favorite performances of this song. From the 'maniac' dance she does up to the mic at the beginning, to the wild spins after the first chorus, and then her wild & crazy tambo playing during the middle of the song...this is the real ****.

That's a great Stand Back. Is she changing the vocals up near the end? It sounds different almost like the band didn't know when to stop. And then Waddy came over to get everyone on time. Did anybody notice anything different here or is it just my imagination?

Quote:
"Well I feel I'm ready to go . . . (stand back) Well I feel I'm ready to go . . . (stand back) Well I feel I'm ready to go . . . (stand back) Well you could be standing in . . . (stand back)" NIFTY Stevie!! Back when she was good! In those days, STAND BACK kicked off with a drum machine, & the drummer didn't start until just before the synth bass that Benmont played. STAND BACK was especially exciting in those days because when the drum machine started, the audience really didn't know what song it was -- there was no precedent of a straight-ahead 4/4 dance number in a Stevie Nicks concert. It really was hugely electrifying in 1983 when the synth pad started its recognizable riff. The fedora she picks up & puts on during HOW STILL can be seen on the cover of the paperback EVERYTHING YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT STEVIE NICKS (1984). That's a shot from this number.

Thank you David. I couldn't understand what she was saying. Are her backup singers singing those same lyrics with her?
