From everything I've heard so far, my guess is that Stevie will be doing either a duet with someone or a short solo performance. Probably a duet, since she doesn't have anything new out herself. But here's something I've wondered about since I first heard that Stevie was performing on the Grammys - why ask Stevie, and not all of Fleetwood Mac? Although FM doesn't have anything new either, they have just finished a world tour! Plus, with all of the rumors flying around about a new album this year, to me it would make more sense for all of Fleetwood Mac to perform, rather than just Stevie. Unless Stevie is getting some kind of award, but I think we would have heard about that... It's puzzling.

I can't help but wonder if the Sunday performance has something to do with her recent studio time with Peter Asher. I know this is probably wishful thinking but perhaps the infamous New Orleans song may finally see the light of the day. It may have taken on new meaning for Stevie in light of the Haiti tragedy. This is assuming that the song was pretty much already complete before the quake hit. Or perhaps the tragedy really affected Stevie and motivated her to finally finish and/or transform the song. I'm babbling... she's probably just gonna sing Dreams and be done with it!!

My theory is that Stevie is laying the groundwork for a major solo comeback, and these award shows have a tendency to be the incubators for comebacks. There really is no other reason. She is not a particularly public person or some kind of a fame whore, so she really does things like this only when she has to. Considering that half of Fleetwood Mac is there, yet there is no FM reunion, is pretty glaring to me- this is not about the band at all. She's focusing on brand "Nicks" for the foreseeable future. I suspect that the past year has completely transformed her views about music- between the world tour, the CD signing, the PS22 choir, as well as the confluence of world events and the plethora of subject matter to write about, I think she has finally decided that the time is right for more music. There is more sand in the bottom half of the hourglass than in the top half, so one must do what one must do.

I just thought of something even wackier- that she should perform "Beautiful Child." Not only is it superficially relevant to the plight of Haiti (orphans), the song royalties were already assigned to UNICEF long ago. I suspect that all of the musical performances for the night will be available for download on iTunes.

Hey Lexi, I am from Melbourne
As of yet, I understand the Grammy's will be shown on Foxtel, Tuesday Morning. I am not sure about normal TV though.

I was thinking the same thing. Not only can she dedicate it to people of New Orleans, but also to the people in Haiti. She kind of did that when she did Landslide on the Today Show a while back right? She said it took on new meaning after Katrina. Or am I just remembering wrong?

Apparently the author has some sort of inside connection to the Grammys...

I posted the following comment:

"The ONLY reason I will be watching the Grammys is to see Stevie Nicks. I'm 20 years old and couldn't care less about artists like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas. I do listen to new music and I do have several songs by performers like Lady Gaga or the Black Eyed Peas on my ipod, but I don't consider their work to be great musical achievements. But I will suffer through all of that to see Stevie Nicks show the world that she still has it!"

and he responded with the frustratingly vague:
"You will be happy you watched"

!! I am very very very curious!
Oh wow, the author is none other than David Wild!! Since he said that, then this is really happening for real, because this man has connections, and for those who forgot, he wrote the liner notes in the Crystal Visions booklet!

I just need one reason to watch the Grammys: Stevie Nicks.
Now if only the Huffington Post could find out some more info about her performance...

Watch the show and all will be revealed.
Life is full of surprises, and so is our show.

I hope it is something good. Maybe she will sing with Taylor Swift since Taylor is a fan. I figure even if it is the same old same old (Stand Back or Landslide) at least she is out there still rocking
