Is there a link for a video or mp3 of this performance somewhere? You've piqued my interest!

This is HSML. Not sure if the white thing aroung her neck is a scarf, or an overlay, again you can't see the outfits. However the video is quite enjoyable ( to me anyway ).
2:45- Wonder what she picked up, or was looking at.

3:12- Rock A Little.

3:43- Your doin' a u u l l that you can for me.

The dancing, the flowers, the stuffed animals, the head bashing, body thrashing, chanting and screaming, lights and loudness, the excess, the endless energy, pure happiness, the ribbons and tambourine smashing, leg kicking, mic off stand, squat induced exorcism, totally ready to ROCK. I miss RAL and everything that went with it.

Ahh, you and me both. I think the umbrella for all of the above is: PASSION. Something we really haven't seen since 1986. What I'd give to go back to see a few Rock A Little/Mirage shows.

Exactly right Passion is the key word. Ral/Mirage/ and WH all have that magic, and yes that is what I find my self drawn to about that era because it was so heart felt, it connected with the audience and we were just one big party rocking out.

Wow, thanks for posting that! I especially love the fact that Bobbye Hall is cranked way up in the mix and she's beating those congas like redheaded stepchildren! Lawdy... there has never been, nor will there ever be, another Miss Bobbye!

Thanks for these videos. I had seen the one of ICW before but not HSML. This is proof she still sounded "good" on some songs when she wanted to and the "passion" and magic was still there, even in those very dark times. And I LOVE the clothes and look!!!

OMG I loveloveLOVE those RAL vids! Pure awesomeness! And she sounds so good!
There simply isn't enough RAl-appreciation here on the Ledge, maybe a thread should help? Hint hint.

Here's another decor. She's got it "twisted", but it's there!

Ragrsrocalot posted it earlier in this thread...did you check it out?

I have the Iowa show on VHS and it's a great show from the RAL Tour. I like how during the middle section of Stand Back Stevie would dance across the front of the stage almost slapping hands as she went by the front row. She did this at the Jones Beach show too...also have that show on VHS and it's another great show. Does anyone know of any other RAL Tour video boots?

Tim

Yes it would be great if everyone posted what they had from RAL, and maybe as Sanne2 said, start a new thread For All Things RAL. Unfortunately not to many people responded, and maybe it's because their isn't much out there, but there are things just the same. Don't know that many identify with RAL, but it sounds likes some would enjoy it.

I was at a RAL Jones Beach show and to be honest, I would never have thought to have recorded it. Back then (and really even now), a show for me was so freaking exciting and I was always very caught up in the moment. This was my first Stevie show and I definitely do not remember thinking she was anything but amazing. Quite the contrary; most shows after this one paled in comparison, imo.

I hate that whole Rock a Little time. Stevie was so out of it that it was disturbing to watch. She was just yelling & screaming in pain. Thank goodness she survived that horrible era & is singing better than ever today for us. Our hearts are heavy with gratitude.

I was referring to Gold Dust Woman. That's the one I'd like to see .

My bad! I just checked YouTube and it's nowhere to be found. If no one else posts GDW I will try to upload it from my VHS copy. There's also a really good GDW from Nebraska that's shot closer to the stage which is below. Too bad it's filmed off of the TV screen but I also have a copy of this so I'll try to upload it along with the Iowa performance.

Tim

EDIT: Now that I'm watching the Nebraska clip I realize THIS is the favorite GDW I was referring to...but Iowa is a very close second!

Is there any chance of getting the Jones Beach show from you?
I was there both nights, it was my first Stevie experience, and I would love to see it. I also went to Madison Garden to see Stevie on that tour, that show was off the hook. Higher than Judy Garland, somewhere over that rainbow. I have that on a cd, but I have never seen any video of it. Does anyone know if it exists?
