With Finals coming up as well as the holidays, don't you kids have some VIDEOS you should be making and posting??? . . .

Ahahah I think I've done all other procrastination techniques except this one.
But my cam is on the fritz right now anyway. So that's probably a good thing.

Finals suckkkkkkkkk. I cannot bring myself to settle in and focus. Boo.

Word. I also can't bring myself to NOT HATE EVERYONE.

Straight men on this board, a question: Do all of you have some sort of wiring problem that dictates that if you can't fix a problem in a woman's life, you should get pissy about it and take it out on said woman?

I came home today (like most other days), and as I got off the elevator, I noticed that the door to one of my neighbor's apartments was sealed shut with bright green NYPD tape. There was a notice on the door that said something to the effect of "this apartment has been sealed by order of the NYPD, any entry is forbidden." Pretty cryptic. But the header of the sign had the ominous acronym: D.O.A. I am assuming the old lady who lived there (I never actually met her- it's a NY thing) must have been found in there. And considering I've only rarely seen her emerge, and she never seemed to have any visitors, I am thinking she may have been there for a while. So I'm kinda skeeved that all this time I've been coming and going, she's been slowly turning into worm food just mere steps away...

Okay... this sounds horrible... but based on her age and the age of the building (pre-war), I am 99% sure she is one of those legacy rent controlled tenants- so she's paying like $250/month for an apartment that would normally fetch $4000/month (yes, four thousand) on the open market. And under NY City law, the apartment remains regulated even after the tenant leaves. Am I going to go to hell if I call the apartment management company tomorrow inquiring about this "new vacancy." I know it's so morbid... but getting an apartment like this would be like hitting the lottery... I feel so bad...

No trip to hell for that...all is fair when it comes to flat rental (I'm a transplanted Londoner) esp when it comes to rent control.

Truth be told, most of us are just happy you're willing to give us the time of day. But we'd never, never ever admit it. . . . .

I bet you any amount of money, if there was some way to contact her in the afterlife and you asked her that question, she'd say something like, "Wow - all the things you could ask me? Uhm -
YEAH knock yourself out; take the apartment. It's just this weird
3-dimensional useless thing to me - I'm dealing with like, a hundred dimensions here and an entire eternity of time, so you'll excuse me if I'm not too interested in this....." Point being, yeah I know it's a little "squeamish" but you can't take it with you - It's not going to hurt her or anyone else in any way and i.m.o. there's certainly nothing morally wrong with it. But yeah I can understand how you, or anyone, might feel a little wigged out about it; that seems natural to me.

I'm into my second schoool! I'm two for two; University of San Francisco and Seattle University both accepted me. They are both backups, as are the other two in which I applied Early Action.... so really, this is the easy part. The notification letters I recieve in April are what really matter.

Go for it. I understand what you're saying as far as feeling bad about it, but someone is going to get it...might as well be you.

I had date #12 with juan R. last night. (Still considered tonight 'cause I haven't gone to bed yet)
Talked on the phone with Randy from Arizona, Sarah from California, John from North Carolina and Dani from California. I was dead tired on the phone with the first three and wide awake on the phone with Dani.
