Meeting Stevie

Hello,
This year, my goal was to meet Stevie, who thankfully will be coming to Melbourne extrmeley soon. Does anyone know how to meet her, becuase I would have no idea !

I am really excited, becuase this is my first concert ever!

I think you may be dissapointed, she isnt going to meet her fans at concerts becasue she would be there until she was 70.

Short of invading the stage and being dragged off by security, I think you should just enjoy the show.

I really enjoyed it and I didn't get within 30 feet of her.

At her last solo tour in 2006, I was at the Brisbane and Gold Coast shows, which were amazing of course, and although at the Brisbane show I assumed we'd have NO hope of getting anywhere near her (huge venue), but the Gold Coast one, we came earlier in the day to see if we could hear a sound check (we couldn't), and scouted out the venue and located what we thought was the back entrance/exit she'd come from after the show...

So after the show finished, we went around to the back. There were a few people already there, and after about 30 minutes there was a group of about 30 people gathered there, all excited and pumped from the show.

I was sort of disbelieving that I'd ever get to actually meet Stevie, but also had butterflies at the concept...it WAS a possibility, you know?!

So...after about 45 minutes or so, she did come out as hoped, but she sort of slowed down to wave and blow us kisses, but didn't come any closer. She had 2-3 big guys around her and went straight into one of the waiting cars. As they drove off, she blew more kisses until she was out of sight. Awwww...I cried when we got home. I was just so overwhelmed and flattened that the "Week of Stevie" was over. lol.

My partner met her back on the Brisbane Tusk tour. She was 16 (my partner) at the time, and somehow managed to catch her (and the whole band for autographs, even Lindsey at one stage though he mainly stayed in the hotel room and wasn't overly chatty at the time) before I think the first show. They sat chatting for about half an hour!! Stevie was very talkative and lovely. They talked about Janis Joplin and Stevie said how she was just in awe of her and felt like such a lame sort of...like, she had her bra straps showing, falling down her arm and there was Janis, all cool and stuff. lol.

Anyway, then after the show there were a heap of people around, and the band walked through to get back to the hotel, and my partner was amongst the crowd and Stevie actually recognised her and called out to her by name! WOO!

Then at the last show, which my partner was also at, Stevie dedicated Landslide to her. OH MY GOD! lol. Some guy taped it on a tape recorder and gave it to my partner to keep. Lucky. They (my partner and her friend) didn't know anyone had taped it, so...yeah. That was really nice of the guy to give her the tape too.

So there you go.

Myself & 2 of my best girlfriends also meet the band & talked to Stevie for about 15 min that same day in surfers paradise [Tusk Tour] it was sooo cool, to see/hear her laugh, smile, hear her talk, my eyes were just fixed into hers for that whole time, they were on there way back to brisbane for rehersals.

It's my biggest wish now, to meet her.

Tho it's quite impossible I guess. But, if you don't already know, I was able to experience a "some kind of" Edge Walk at the Sweden show with Fleetwood Mac, hehe!
She held my hand, and only mine, in like 3 seconds after Go Your Own Way I'm still quite chocked to have her holding only my hand and no others during the show!

So no, I haven't met her BUT I have been Touched By An Angel.

One thing for sure , you won't be disapointed seeing her live for the first time. Some how that band is able to make a person feel like they were grateful and caring to every single person in the arena.
I gave up ever thinking of that dream of meeting any of FM but the concerts hold a wonderful place in my heart.

My partner met her in Brisbane, yeah. We live on the Gold Coast (now. She's originally from Brisbane, then Tamworth, then England, then Sydney, then Melbourne and now here!! *exhausted* I'm from Melbourne originally).

I didn't know Stevie'd ever been to the Gold Coast before her 2006 solo tour.

F/Mac were sightseeing that day on the Gold coast, travelling on a bus, we were sitting at an out door cafe when I happened to look up at this bus & there was Stevie sitting on the back seat, we both looked at each other at the same time, so I just ran towards them & the bus stopped to let the 3 of us girls on board, they were the only people on the bus. I was in shock, & almost fainted after waving good bye to her. We couldnt believe our luck!!! We were big F/Mac fans at the time too... Im from Melbourne too, but have lived here on the Sunshine coast for the past 20yrs.
