No, the Phillies will lose game five, if the Phillies are destined to win the WS. The two Phillies WS championships were won with the pennant on the road. Actually with Padilla pitching, you can mark that in stone. The Phillies can't solve him.

Now I don't want to jinx it, so I'll just say if they win & clinch a spot in the World Series, the date will be October 21. This is the date that they won the World Series back in 1978. I heard that Citizen Bank Park was really rocking, & I mean the loudest it ever been since it's been built. If they clinch it tomorrow night, they will go crazy (& hopefully it a good way).

GOOOOOOOOOOOOO PHILLIES!!!!!

Back to Back N.L. Champions!!!!! It's now official, my 26-33 year old memories of this baseball team are put to rest. I now live in the best baseball era the Phillies have ever had!!!! The Yankees and Phillies are mirror images of each other. The Phillies should've won all three games in Yankee Stadium in May, but Brad Lidge was in blown save mode. Even if the Angels manage to come back, fine bring them on!

This is going to be interesting. I'll quote Buck Martinez from tonight's game: "The Phillies are an A.L. lineup in the National League." Of course the national media is going to declare the current WS champion team the underdogs going up against the 300 billion payroll Yankees. They're only playing into the Phillies motivation.

Good job Phillies! This is an easy team to root for! If it is the Yankees it would be a "rematch" of the 1950 world series won by the Yankees 4-0. It's kinda nice to see the Phillies get some payback against the Dodgers since they were the Phillies daddies in the postseason in the late 70's.

Oy veeey. I was in a bar in Queens, wearing a Swisher shirt, let's just say. I couldn't even watch. The last thing you want to happen is have your favorite player with the full count, top of the ninth, bases loaded! Really wish he could have been the hero but alas. It was the pitching. The hitting made up their part. We'll get them here at home.

I think the Yankees win this but it could go to the 7th game. The Angels will be done in by the cold weather. They shouldn't be playing baseball in late October. In the "old" days, the World Series played during the day and was over by now.
