how did we make it thru?~
and my school had plenty of computers, even computer courses for those who at that time may have been interested. I was on a computer in high school from '86-'88, learning all there was to know, and thanks to a cool Drafting teached at the vo-tech many of us were ahead of the curve when the internet sprang wide open.

As for me, I could still live without many of the modern 'luxeries' in life (I'm not a cell phone person)

We didn't have cable until I was a teen and at first there was no remote control. No such thing as channel surfing.

I took a programming class in '89 but I hated it and learned nothing. I used my Mom's computer to write my college papers but this was pre-Windows so it was all DOS. I lost an entire paper one year. Fortunately my professor was understanding, gave me an incomplete, I just had to get the paper in by end of the next semester. But when I got a job in '95 that required computer knowledge and I had access to the Internet I was hooked right away. I've always been so glad I learned to type-it has served me well.

I had a Merlin too and Atari. I was never particularly good at video games though and my little brother would kick my ass. That's not fun.

Hahaha. At my school yes.

But anyway, the one site (practically) that isn't blocked is the ledge. They block so many pages that they deem "uncategorized" whatever that means.

Not that anyone (but me) cares, but I took this issue to Facebook. Apparently we not only had computers, but a computer LAB. I honestly have no memory of this. What else don't I remember!
