Default Street Angel Tour Stories

Street Angels aren't like anyone you know...

If you went to see Stevie during the Street Angel tour, post here! Where did you see her? Let us know anything you remember from the night. What did you think of that hair? And that voice which IMO got much better during this tour.

They do what they want and they go where they go....

SA is a tour that I wish I could remember more about. Because I did go to see her when she made her usual stop at The Jones Beach Theatre here in NY. Yet somehow, I can't remember much about the show in terms of the little things I usually notice: clothing, accessories, band quality, voice quality, the weather, boots or 'boks, etc. I remember the songs on the set list but not their order. I remember some stranger sitting behind me asking if his girlfriend could borrow my binoculars during 'Destiny' because he said it was her favorite song. I can't remember her vocals though, which is a shame because when I hear SA live performances now I think they sound great compared to some of the snoozers she did on TITN, Timespace and OSOTM tours. I think I remember the show opening with 'Blue Denim' though I might be wrong.
It's possible I had a bad day or something that day, and it carried over to the evening and that's why it didn't click into my mind as much as some other shows did.

I saw her at the Greek theater in L.A. Lori was not on the tour, but she joined them for "I Need to Know" at the end, and meybe another song. She did a dance during "Stand Back" with a male dancer, maybe the same guy from the video and "Live at Red Rocks".

She had a cape for "Gold Dust Woman" that was orange and yellow shredded chiffon and looked like flame. I hadn't seen that cape before and haven't seen it since.

She also took the mic off the stand and walked around a little during the bridge of "Edge of 17".

She told a backstory for "Detiny" about how, right before the Fleetwood Mac offer, she had to decide whether to stay in L.A. with Lindsey and pursue music, or become a secratary and move to the Bay Area with another guy!

Thumbs up

Well...I've posted about this many of times & many a threads.....This was my first time to see Stevie solo. I did see her with Fmac for Mask in '90. I missed the Mirror tour .....I couldn't go that night. I had just started collecting Stevie/Mac stuff. I saw her at Pine Knob, in Clarkston, MI .....now called DTE. I really enjoyed myself. Me & my friend , Pattie went & we'd dressed up Stevie like. I wore a black top hat....and a skirt with scarfs.....I don't recall all the colors. No platforms though...didn't have those. I don't recall all that Pattie wore. Its been too long ago. We didn't take pics either. I know it was a Friday night. It was very humid & it did end of raining really hard that night. This was later in the tour....Aug I think so the set list had already been changed. No Docklands...taken out already. But we still got Destiny/& TTM/ROF/and a shortend Blue Denim cause the power went out during that song. No longer version. Or start over. I don't care what others say.....Stevie DID play 'The Chain' at PK/DTE that night. I couldn't tell at first the song....so when it was 'The Chain' I was shocked cause it wasn't anything I'd ever expected. Now I have no 'tape' of the concert. No way of proving it other than memory. I know she didn't perform it everywhere just certain cities. I think it wasn't planned cause...well I think she did it cause of the storm that night. It was one of my most favorite concerts ever of hers. Her voice was awesome. I don't care how she looked. She wore her blue lamp/BD shawl that night......so that made it special. It was great that Rick Vito was up there with her as well. I do recall being sad that the merchandise booth there really wasn't alot to buy. Not like at the Enchanted tour show. This show & Enchanted and the 2 Voices tour those were my favorite of the 6 solo shows that I've seen her. CV was ok...........I loved Enchanted cause of all the extra songs that she sang & the merchandise was great---really the best of all the tours to me IMO that is. Shangri-la was ok but Sheryl was there.....anyway, sorry I got off track but I loved the SA tour....it'll always hold that 'special' place in my heart because it was my first time seeing Stevie solo ......I won't ever forget it.......

I was at this show also! I remember the power going out--I thought it was during Dreams though..... or maybe she sang it that after?? I just remember her singing about the rain after it happened-- maybe it was-- and the rain came down........ cause she usually does Dreams at the beginning--did she for this tour also?? How I wish I would have wrote down the setlists back in the day! LOL!! Obviously I don't remember!! I do remember she sang Destiny though because I LOVE that song and was so thrilled when she sang it

Nice to hear from someone else at this show. I know for sure it was BDenim that the power went out on. I was bummed cause I really love that song from SA. I recall someone saying when it went out Stevie did like a rain dance or something? I know it was already after 10:00 that night...cause I could see the clock. There is a cut off of what at least 11:00 or something. I was afraid that night that the power wouldn't come back on at all. I think Dreams was much earlier in the concert that night. You can look on Stevie's web site for setlists but there not always accurate. Since the beginning of the SA tour the set list was different to the later setlist. I didn't even know about this stuff back in the 'day' not until much later. I didn't write down the setlist either. I so wish I'd had all of the Michigan Stevie solo shows on cd. (like WH too....but I know of know one that has that show same with this one or the 2 Voices show with Don.....bummer!!!!).....anyway. It was a magical night wasn't it......

Yes it was I can't help ya on The Chain though--but I think you are right that she did sing it...... but I can't be 100% sure...... I know it totally SUCKS that no one used to tape the Michigan shows..... plus I remember that every show I went to in Michigan they were very strict about cameras--they always have been so I never even thought to try.... I'll have to dig through my stuff and see if I can come up with some newspaper articles or something--I used to always try and buy the newspaper whenever her or the Mac was in town--these days with the internet I forget to look!! ha ha

Here's the tour setlist that FM Legacy has on there site - some changes were made throughtout the tour and this refeclts some of them. She also did the chain a few times.

01. Outside the Rain
02. Dreams
03. Docklands*
04. Maybe Love Will Change Your Mind
05. Rhiannon
06. Stand Back
07. Destiny
08. Gold Dust Woman
09. Talk to Me
10. Blue Denim**
11. Edge of Seventeen

Encore:
12. I Need To Know
13. Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You

* "Rooms On Fire" replaced "Docklands" in the set at the Greek Theatre shows.
**"Blue Denim" was the opening song at the Jones Beach Show - -plus after "Talk To Me" she played "How Still My Love".

Thank you for your stories!

Why are Stevie's solo setlists always so short?!

Anyone else of her status, never mind someone with a solo (new album and older material) AND group ctatlogue to choose from would play for 2 hours or so. Usually gigs from very famous artists with such extensive catalogues are 20-22 tracks. Don't tell me Stevie can't manage that in terms of her voice, look at Say You Will and Unleashed tours, she's on for almost all of them and they're 2+ hours.

I saw the Houston and Dallas Street Angel shows at the end of the tour, and she did perform "The Chain".

You want Street Angel tour stories????

Well well well--I think I can deliver some for you. As I type this, I'm sitting in Sara Fleetwood's living room while she eats a banana, haha. I have stories and I have pictures and I have videos, some of which I will post when I get back to UT. But right now, we're about to go down to Hollywood Blvd.

Sara Fleetwood is a DOLL, you guys. Sweetest woman on this planet and funniest too. My fairy godmother she is and how thankful I am for her. I'll post some Street Angel stuff Tuesday afternoon when I get back to my apt.

Peace and love to you all,

Bryson

For the lack of videos (and by "lack of" I mean that they were nonexistant...!) on Facebook last night, you best have some awesomeness to share with us when you get back home.

Just kidding, I love you Bryson!!!

I'm sorry!!!! We are supposed to be videoing up Facebook right now, but Sara is lying in bed dying, basically. Poor girl. We ate some Korean bbq and she is like, deathly ill. I actually think she has the flu because her head feels awfully burning up hot. Not cool. Not cool at all, Sara Lynn, haha. So much for our fun in the jacuzzi and facebook videos tonight. Never fear...we still have most of the day tomorrow before I have to leave!

You never used to tease us before you got a job.

But seriously let's try to keep this thread to real SA stories and less clutter.
