Default Lindsey Collaboration?

Which artists do you think would be interesting for Lindsey to work with? Why? It could be for a one-off song, a full album, an EP or whatever.

I would like to see him work with Jenny Lewis for some good harmonies. It would almost be a like a throw back to the early days with Stevie. Except that Jenny writes much, much better lyrics and sings better these days.

I'd also like to see him work with some sort of slightly more experimental band to see just how far he is willing to go with the experimentation, though I'm assuming he goes as far as he wants on his solo albums anyway.

Ever since I saw the Dixie Chicks during their Taking the Long Way tour, I thought they put on such an incredible show musically, especially Martie with her fiddle that I just could imagine Lindsey performing with them - maybe on banjo - even though he might scoff at the idea.

I saw Cyndi Lauper very steamy with Chris Isaak doing I Drove All Night and thought I'd love to see Lindsey in a live setting with Lauper like that.

Would also love him with Melissa Etheridge. I'd love to see him kind of hamming it up with a female musician. Really, he and Janet Robin did come together a couple of times during the OOTC set, but just briefly. I'd love to see him doing some sort of dueling thing on stage with someone of Etheridge's intensity and caliber.

I dunno. After seeing how well he meshed with Little Big Town, I think he could work with just about anyone (Okay, I don't think even Linds could make Neil Sedaka cool, but hey..)

Ryan Adams...because he needs a new project other than being married to Mandy Moore and I love Lindsey and Ryan's music so much I think it would be cool for them to do something together. But I wonder if their egos are too big.

Theres only one other place lindsey needs to be right now. There's a job going as Laim Gallaghers lead guitarist in Oasis. Think Lindsey could maybe Show Noel how a guitar is supposed to be played. I'd also say Laim's attitude would soon change too.

I'd like to hear a Lindsey Buckingham/Bob Welch full album collaboration. The long-overdue "what if"* album.

*= the "what if" Bob didn't quit Fleetwood Mac and they went ahead and added Lindsey & Stevie.

Fun question!

I would like Lindsey to collaborate with Bernard Sumner whose various guitar collabs (Hook w/ Joy Division, Hook & Cunningham w/ New Order, Marr w/ Electronic, Cunningham & Jake Evans w/ Bad Lieutenant) have generated some of the most beautiful sounds EVER.

My other dream would be Lindsey working with Iris Dement.

I can't really think of anyone else worthy or needy (The Pets have Marr, An Pierle has Koen Gisen).

I did find it strange that Lindsey wasn't on the Brad Paisley guitar concept album. He shoulda been.

If they were to join FMac, I'd be all for: Chris Isaak, An Pierle, Iris Dement, Sarah Cracknell.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

I'm going to choose not to take offense to this.

Im just saying Lindsey might be able to get them some sort of Recognition. Liam would soon get pissed off and leave too and Lindsey could call the band NOasis. And then all those half decent tunes they wrote might sound better if lindsey did them.....

Only havin a laugh.

I actually really like Oasis. I'm not saying they are profound artists, etc., but I enjoy the simple, brash rock and roll style they have. I'm also not surprised Noel quit again! He'll rejoin eventually. I've seen them a couple of times live. The first was with the Black Crowes. That was a great show. Noel came out and did Shake Your Moneymaker with the Crowes, awesome. The other time I saw them Noel told all of us in the audience to shut the f*ck up because we were ruining the song by singing a long to Don't Look Back in Anger! It's so nice when bands appreciate their fans.

I'd have loved to hear more work with Lindsey and John Stewart. I'm just listening to John's song 'Liddy Buck'. It obvious how much mutual influence these two had on each other musically and their seems to be genuine affection from both of them for the other party. I wonder why they never did any major collaborations after Bombs Away Dream Babies?
