I saw her in Hartford, Worcestor, Providence, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The Philly show was Excellent and memorable. The rest of them sucked. The Worcestor show(the second show of two nights-I did not attend the first night) was the worst. It was sooooo bad I even left B4 the encores.

What made Philly so good? Why was the other so bad? Details, please!

Thanks for sharing everyone...I don't know anything about Stevie having an overdose before the show. Could be likely... She did so much coke at this time though so I'm sure she was always close. Closer than ever before, at least.
Yes, thank you, I did mean No Spoken Word - which my friend has reminded me that~ she didn't actually ever perform live ~ my memory is a little blurred but I do remember going to Great Woods 7/30/1986 for Rock A Little ~ I think the venue opened the summer before because I remember seeing Petty and Dylan as one of the first shows.

This was my first Stevie concert experience. I saw Stevie 3 times on this tour, 2 shows back to back at Jones Beach, and then later at Madison Square Garden. I, like some of you have a foggy memory of most of the details. I do remember frequent ad-libs and numerous costume changes. Peter Frampton rocked, as the opening act, but it seemed to me that not many people were that into him, which was kind of sad. But Stevie herself put on a great show. The Garden show stands out in my mind as being real energetic and loud. Stevie was really into the concert as far as excitment, and she was most definitely under the influence. So were most of the people in the arena, lol. But all good. I just know that my friends and I had a rockin time.

You thought the Forum sucked & I thought it was one of the finest performances she ever gave.

So it was such a surprise to see the stoic, mummified-but-living-corpse of Stevie just one year on the TITN tour.
All that vamping and "well" and "baby" just added a spontaneity and passion which made it so compelling. I just wonder why it takes coke and booze to make someone that loose on stage. Is Stevie naturally a performer who holds back, and everything we saw up until 1986 merely an illusion fueled by the chemicals she took?

One thing I adore about RAL tour music is how Stevie crams twice the amount of lyric into a verse, giving it a frantic urgency. A lyric as benign as
"look at my eyes, touch my face,
baby is there anyone who can take my place"

becomes

"Wellllll look at my eyes,
wontcha touch my face well baby,
tell me is there anyone else in this whole wide world
that could well ever replace meh baby!!??"

It's like 'word salad'

Yeah, agreed. This ties into why I think Red Rocks is both amazing and a little scary at the same time.... but that "frantic urgency" really adds a new dimension to her performances. I like it 75% of the time.

I was at The Forum show and I remember little of the show - but afterwards I was at The Forum Club which back in the day was where the after-parties were held.

Two memorable things happened for me that night:

1. Stevie borrowed a pen from me to sign autographs
2. I met J.D. Souther, which led to Stevie and I having something in common.......

That night definitely changed my life!

I totally agree with you, my favourite parts of the whole dvd is when she loses it in No Spoken Word "Not from the pages of that nmknvjkjdb-ing BOOK!!!", the end of Beauty and The Beast "III'veee Chaannnggeeddd"
and "Edge Of Seventeen" where she sits on the stage kind of screeching....

They give me chills everytime.

I think thefire and passion and downright craziness of Stevie's performances during the RAL tour were caused by a combination of things. She was still suffering from the loss of Robin, her failed relationships with Joe Walsh and Jimmy Iovine, her now out of control drug addiction and lastly, her seemingly boundless rise to fame, first in FM and now as a solo artist. I think the RAL album and subsequent tour were a culmination of all these things, and probably a few more. The Bella Donna touring Stevie seems almost sedate compare to the RAL version. I can't help but think that this was all part of the plan, that Stevie set out to make this tour over the top. She was doing what she loved and her dreams had come true in a big, big way. However, along with that joy she was dealing with a lot of pain and heartbreak. Perhaps she was also acutely aware that her partying days were nearing their end and she wanted to go out "with a bang".
