Hey guys, maybe this is old, but I just came across it on youtube. So...Stevie was nominated for best female pop artist in 1982 on the AMA's. COOL! haha. Although....she did not win. Damn Olivia Newton-John!

If you're talking about the song "Wear My Ring Around Your Neck" (a Elvis
Presley classic), that was cool. It was great to hear Stevie do a song from my
favorite singer of all time.

BTW, that song didn't make it to the official release of the "Diva's" DVD.

And she lost to Olivia Newton John??? I haven't got anything against Olivia or anything...but I seriously can't believe Stevie lost to her...that's just...wrong

Thanks, I had never seen that. She was also nominated the next year along with Pat Benatar, Donna Summer, and Bonnie Tyler. Pat won. I think Stevie attended the second time she was nominated. I don't know about the first time.

It might have had to do with the clearance of the song "Wear My Ring Around You Neck". EPE (Elvis Presley Enterprises) had to fight like crazy to get a few particular songs on the DVD's "Elvis Aloha From Hawaii" and "Elvis That's The Way It Is". My guess is that VH1 didn't want to pay the amount asked for the song. I do believe Stevie was on the DVD (I haven't watched it in a long time), but they cut out her "Elvis" song. Stevie and Elvis, what a combination.

AMEN! Stevie and Fleetwood Mac rank number 1 on my favorite artist obivously, but Elvis is my number 2. I adore him. I have so much Elvis stuff it's not even funny... Anyway Stevie and Elvis are such a great combo!

Last month when I was at the beach there was this guy performing oldies and he covered this song. He allowed anyone in the audience to participate on stage so when this song came on I ran up and grabbed the tambourine and started playing.Then I played it for the next three songs. He told me after the show he really liked my playing. I asked him if he could post the video on youtube and just yesterday he did. So that's me with the tambo and it amazes me how I have the movements of Stevie with me arms while playing. I don't look anything like her, but secretly I was pretending to be her.

I can believe it - I loved Olivia for a good 2 solid years before getting on the Stevie wagon. Olivia was the deal back then just as much as Stevie was, and just as beloved.
