I can't help but wonder if this "planned biopic" will be like the re-release of Rumors, and NEVER come out...until we're all dead...lol!!

Hey and welcome to the Ledge!

Yes!!! I've thought about Kate Hudson for ages, and have been saying- since day 1, that she'd be a perfect "Younger" Stevie! She's an awesome actress, and could pull that one off easily...

Hugs,

Arlene

This tv movie would be horrible probably, and I don't think it would do very well in the ratings. Those of us that love mac and these great artists may be blinded but I doubt your typical middle american watching a sunday night movie would care about mac and the drug days, wrong demographic for this story I think.

now a vh1 movie that may be ok,though the "behind the music" specials will always be the best and good documentaries are the best to watch.

I am not excited about this prospect of a movie at all, I would rather see stevies long awaited rhiannon on screen or stevies autobiography or lindseys if he kept any notes, which I doubt. did christine write anything down?

the fact that stevie keeps talking about these dull people, britney, lindsey even reese, is kind of depressing. she should be making movies, designing a fashion empire, making solo albums, putting out great music, writing her autobio,etc..

people like paris hilton, britney, and lindsey lohan are really not even worth talking about

I like this idea.. I love Kate Hudson! She did awesome in Almost Famous, it is my favorite movie. And she looks great in the long, blonde, curly hair look.... so if she poofs it out ALOT she might could pull off an 80's Stevie too..

Almost Famous is my favorite movie too I watch it when I have a hangover lol...

Glad I wasn't the only one with the Kate/Stevie thing... But she probably can't sing.

Agreed. I don't like the idea of someone else singing her songs... It would be totally distracting.

Sadly I don't think we should hold our breath for this Rhiannon movie. What my real fantasy would be is Stevie publishing excerpts from her diary - just 'cause I'm pathetically nosey.

I don't think Stevie is choosing to talk about them, I think it's just what she's being asked about lately.

I'd think Naomi Watts would be a good candidate (King Kong). She has a waif like look about her!

Cheers, Glenn

I would much rather read Stevie's diaries if they were published also.I agree, I don't think Reese could play Stevie. She's got that weird one-point-direction thing going on that no matter what role she plays , she's kind of the same person. I was thinking about this thread the other day and a couple actresses popped into my head.Drew Barrymore was one them.It takes someone who can be serious, dramatic and silly when need be.Someone who also is a little wild yet is classy at the same time.
I think Alyssa Milano could pull it off.

According to imdb, she can play the piano and has also released 4 studio albums which were popular in Japan. She's short too, 5'2".I don't know if she could sing like Stevie though.
Another actress that came to mind is Sarah Michelle Gellar. She's short too, 5'4".She sang in one or two episodes on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer tv series. She would have to wear contacts but she could probably pull it off.She also has that California girl thing going on.

Reese is way too innocent seeming for Stevie..Stevie is tough but feminine at the same time....Reese would portray Olivia Newton John better than Stevie. I can't see Reese playing the possessed Rhiannon scenes!

What I am wondering, though, is should whoever ends up playing Stevie be well known or unknown??? Casting someone well known would probably bring in a bigger audience but in terms of believability it might have to be someone that no one really knows anything about in order for her to "become" Stevie so that the audience sees Stevie not so-and-so playing Stevie.
Or Linda Blair.... she could do the 70's Rhiannon.. but she's older now she'd have to play Stevie a little older.

Well, Alyssa would certainly endow the film with an appeal to heterosexual men it may not have otherwise. I don't really see any similarities between her and Stevie though, however with the right costuming, hair and make-up it could work. Oh, and as for those albums, if you had, had the misfortune of hearing them you might not have mentioned them.

ahahahahaha...the visual of this statement made me LOL in the middle of my class lecture this morning. What's more, I really can't see her playing any SOTM Mirage style scenes...only Mama could pull that off...no one else could do it justice
