Wild Heart Tour Stories

Thought since Mirage is coming to an end over in the Rumours section, I'd start one for The Wild Heart tour!

"Welcome to the first Wild Heart tour...and probably the last Wild Heart tour"

Stevie said some really funny stuff during this tour. Oh and she also sounded GREAT. I really liked it when she did Enchanted at the start of the tour, but it was dropped soon. Sounds much better here than it did later on when she brought it back for the Enchanted tour. (it wasn't that bad then, but IMO got worse. Glad it was gone for 2008)

David said the tour got wilder as it went on - and I agree. The later the shows the better they seem to get.

But my memories aren't live...just from the bootlegs.

So if you went to The Wild Heart tour please tell us anything you remember from the show.

(I didn't do a Bella Donna tour thread - but if anyone here was lucky enough to attended one of those 12 shows, feel free to psot here.

I'm disappointed, because I know some people here have been to at least one show. I love WH tour stories the best.

Hold on folks- give it time!!! I'm sure there are probably 10 Ledgies right now working on a novel's length worth of thoughts for this tour. Give it a few months, then we'll be crackin'!!!

I was at the Irvine Meadows show Sept . 24..Sh was really wild I will say and improvised quite a bit during songs.I recall during Dreams she was chanting something about in your wildest hearts ..perhaps a snippet of the title track.She talked quite a bit and I recall her mentioning a Lion country safari park that was adjacent to the shed and then said 'oh well I've never been there"Her spins were very very rapid and all her movements were kind of over the top like she was playing to the gallery.She would never be that wild again.

i was at the Roanoke show in October (or Sept) of 83. It was my first concert -- and i was only 13 -- but i remember it well-ish. I was so starstruck for most of it -- but was even still a little unshocked that the set list was so close to the HBO concert that had aired previously that year. I do rememeber her taking off so many wraps and shawls until she was esentially in a bathing suit/leotard with a skirt (we know that look well now). My dad thought that "striptease" was pretty great (and he also loved Sharon's legs that "went up to her armpits") ... I remember a lot of nonsensical talking (or at least it was that way to me at 13) -- and she came dangerously close to falling off the stage during Gypsy and Eof17. Speakin of Edge, she was doing all sorts of weird stop motion vogue-ing... very dramatic poses held for a few seconds. I thought she was mad or forgot the lyrics -- but i guess she was just being theatrical. I dont remember any dance breaks during Standback, thank the lord. But I remember her introducing Sharon as her "roommate" and Lori as her "best friend" -- and i was kinda sad for Sharon to be slighted that way, like thinking "why cant they all be best friends" anyway that was a LONG time ago.

I think it's amazing (and great) that you guys are able to remember anything!

My first show was Rock a Little, and I would be hard pressed to remember details!

I thought that I had posted my stories the last time that this thread came up, but I will share my stories again. My first Stevie show, actually my first 3 Stevie shows were all in the front row. The first being at the Brendan Byrne Arena, otherwise known as the Meadowlands. My parents bought me 2 front row tickets for this show as my 8th grade graduation present. If I am not mistaken, I think they paid 100. per ticket back then. Anyway, I do remember that Diana Ross was there, as was Prince, neither of them on stage though. I also remember giving her a stuffed snoopy that night. I was 14 back then, and I brought my aunt with me, who was only 17. I also remember how excited I was to be going to this show, as I missed Fleetwood Mac the previous year on the Mirage tour. Some days, I am kicking myself still for not going to that show. I had a choice of either seeing another Olivia Newton-John show, whom I also love, or seeing Fleetwood Mac. I choose Olivia. It was the Physical tour, and I was lucky enough that my mom brought me to several shows on that tour. I blame my mom for getting me started on seeing multiple shows. LOL.

Anyway, my next 2 shows were the shows at Radio City Music Hall. And as I said before, they were once again front row tickets. I remember the first night was my first day of High School. I wish I could remember who came with me, all that I remember was that it was some girl who was my father's friends daughter. I vividly remember Marlyn Martin waving to me several times during the show. I also had a kodak camera with me and took several pictures, which I no longer have. It was one of those disc cameras, which actually took great photos. I remember giving the pictures to the person I took to this show. If she is on this board, please, I would love to have copies of those pictures. She used to live in Bayonne, NJ. I also remember that this was the show where she got upset about someone ripping off the bracelet that she had given to a fan. The second night was even better, as this was the first of many times that I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty with Stevie, and it was the only time that she played I will run to you, live. Actually, I would love to see any pictures from these three shows that I went to. After all these years, I still haven't been able to see many pictures from these shows. But These shows will always hold a special place within my heart.

Wild Heart was the first concert I went to...my mom bought me the tickets for my fourteenth birthday (one of the best presents I ever received- to this day)!!! The venue was Colt State Park in Bristol, RI. in September of 83. I remember every girl (except for me and my aunt that I went with - was dressed like Stevie - everyone looked so great)!!
Stevie arrived in a helicopter - and landed in a parking lot that we ran over to. Her set list was a lot like the HBO White Winged Dove tour - I think Gypsy, If Anyone Falls and Angel were included. She sounded great, really clear strong voice haha she did talk a lot. It was one of the last concerts there - there aren't any seats ~ so anyone could get front row, everyone brought their own food and lots to drink - it really was like one big party (too bad i was too young to participate) but it still a really great time!!!

Oh man, what a great time to be a fan of Stevie's. This was Stevie's first big solo tour and she was so pretty and so sexy. I was soooo in love with her and I had a couple of friends who felt the same way. Stevie was like the ultimate girlfriend that we wished we could have. I saw her in the Omni in Atlanta ( ah, the Omni....I miss you....the bastards tore you down.) I remember our seats were pretty good and off to the side so we weren't on the floor. With the help of binoculars I could get great close up looks at Stevie and, yes, major cleavage shots, and my Lord, there were LOTS of those. The smell of pot was heavy in the air. I remember Stevie was having fun and also acting like a school girl. She talked alot. I guess she was prob high but at the time I didn't think that. I just thought she was being Stevie Nicks. She was in her 30's by that time but I thought she was much younger, like her early 20's. I guess because she looked and sounded so young. I got a tourbook that I treasured and still have and a couple of shirts that I have outgrown ( sorry to say). I thought Stevie was going to rule the 80's along with Michael Jackson but it didn't happen. Over the years, I've heard alot of stories about the "Wild Heart" tour. I've heard it was very decadent but it was also fun and exciting. Nobody could guess that things would come crashing down a couple of years later.
