Default Steven Tyler falls off the stage in Sturgis, S.D. motorcycle rally concert

Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been taken to hospital after he fell off the stage during a US gig. Tyler, 61, was singing the band's hit Love In an Elevator when he slipped at the concert in South Dakota. He was helped backstage after the accident then told to go for treatment after medics examined him on site. Fans at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally event said Tyler had been singing and dancing to entertain the crowd after the sound system failed.

TMZ.Com has the video as Tyler goes down. He fell backward onto a couple of fans, said Mike Sanborn of the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the event. The singer was in "good spirits" as he left the grounds, Sanborn said. "He was good natured about it," he added. "He was talking and joking with the physician." The singer suffered neck and shoulder injuries during the incident, Sanborn told local media.

Steven Tyler, the legendary Aerosmith frontman, was rushed to a hospital last night after falling from stage during a concert in South Dakota.

The 61-year-old took a spill while entertaining the crowd by dancing around after the sound system failed during the song “Love In an Elevator.”

Mike Sanborn, spokesman for the Buffalo Chip Campground, which hosted the concert, said Steven Tyler was on the stage’s catwalk when he fell.

Security rushed to help him and the crowd cheered when Tyler got back up.

“He was good natured about it,” Sanborn said. “He was in good spirits when he got in the helicopter. He was talking and joking with the physician.”

“It was an unfortunate end to an extraordinary evening.”

Steven Tyler suffered minor head and neck injuries and a shoulder injury, but it wasn’t immediately clear how serious that was, officials say.

Around 12:15 a.m., Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry told the audience that Steven Tyler was being taken to the hospital and that the show would not go on.

It happened about halfway through the performance.

“He does a lot of dancing on the stage, a lot of stuff with his mike stand. He put his stand down, twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage,” he said.

Sanborn said that post-fall, Tyler was attended to on site by a physician and flown to Rapid City Regional Hospital, the only major hospital in the region.

Here’s wishing Steven a full and speedy recovery!

My dad was at the Aerosmith show. It was an outdoor show, general admission, with thousands of bikers waiting in the sun for hours and hours.... He said the first 55 minutes of the concert were amazing, such a good show.....and then Steven Tyler fell off the stage. A lot of disappointed people, but what can you do?

I wonder what Steven Tyler's deal is?? He must be having equilibrium/balance issues.

A bunch of Aerosmith shows had been cancelled this tour already because he had a broken leg.... I don't know, this is certainly isn't good for the band. Poor guy.

now we all know Stevie's heel just got caught in a cable...that's all, nothing more. That's the ONLY reason she fell.

I hope Steven's OK. Falls can prove very dangerous for senior citizens!
