Because Tom Petty looks out for his fans like no one else. He takes pride in being fair, not letting things get to his head, and being an all around wonderful guy. I think his songs on his last album sums up everything. I hve SOOOOOOOOO much respect or te man. I'd lke to see him and Mick duke it out, he'd whoop Mick's ass.

PS: When does The Banned finally get together for a tour, dammit?!?!?!

Good to see you here, too, Pip! I was really apalled to read that you of all people were banned. You always got your point across very well (with a great biting sense of humour!) and very politely. Knight must've thought you were brainwashing the other European fans from joining the fan club! LOL I can access the board but when I click on a thread, it says I am banned so I can't view it. Try cleaning out your Temporary Internet Files and then going back to the board. Maybe that'll help Good luck, Pip!
Thanks... I tried that. My IP must be banned!

Pip

I'm so glad to see you here! I guess with the next presale coming up they figured they better clear away all the evidence so they can fleece some more innocent hardworking folks out of their money. I am so sad about the way this whole thing went down. Anyway, the air seems much fresher here so I think I'll hang out! Keep in touch!

I suspect "The Banned" must have enough for an orchestra now so we're gonna have to get really creative. Anyone play the harp or the cello?

My post was removed within 30 minutes of posting it. He'll keep all of the posts of praise though. Can we say "propaganda"?

I'm a lurker too and have been debating whether or not to join the fan club. Thanks for making up my mind for me and helping me to save some $$$. I noticed today that they are doing a poll on the Nicks Fix about the quality of seats that people received in the pre-sales. Only 13% of those polled say they got great seats through the presales. The pre-sale marketing come-on (and I do think it's a rip-off) seems to be the way that bands are going now--FM, the Eagles, the Dixie Chicks, etc. I blame it all on corporate greed. Did anyone else see the story on the high price of concert tickets on 20/20 Friday night? I loved all the finger pointing that was going on. Basically, classic rock bands like the Stones, Elton John & Billy Joel etc. are charging the highest ticket prices claiming that they are forced to do so because people are ripping them off by downloading music and that they have to resort to charging higher ticket prices at concerts to make up the difference. This seems to make a lot of sense until you realize that it's older music fans who are far more likely to actually pay for their cd's! So we're getting gouged everywhere you turn between the outrageous ticket prices and these fake fan clubs who offer us little in return except aggrevation!

Well, I am a lawyer *duck* and would be happy to help if I can, but I only practice law here in PA. Not that I have litigation in mind, because I don't think that is the answer, but if the fan club exists in CA, then the question might be based on CA law instead of other states. There is room for argument, however, that any state law could apply because of the marketing of the fan club in all states, in addition to other things. Federal law could also come into play potentially, depending on what allegations could be ascertained from all the marketing, etc.
The Texas Deceptive Trade and Practices Act is an example of a state law that would apply in this case. I work for lawyers. In regard to Marty's post about all of us collecting our information, I believe a class action suit might be in order here....of course I'm not mentioning this on Mick's site, I might get banned.

Hey Livia,

I did it for you! I told them all to file a claim with the BBB and how to do it online, plus the criteria. Let me know what to say about this Deceptive Trade Act and I'LL post it gladly! LOL Bastids!

Hey guys,

[email protected] asked me to post the "fan club fraud" letters on my message board, so I did that, and created a new board/folder while I was at it:

http://pub52.ezboard.com/fthestevienicksundergroundfrm6

Those of you who are still able to access the Mick board, PLEASE do me a favor and post this link there! The more people who know about it, the better! In fact, PLEASE forward it to everyone you know & post it on your websites, on other message boards you frequent, on mailing lists, etc.

I honestly think that Mick has NO IDEA what's really going on. I think he would be appalled if he knew that Jonathan Todd has established a mini-Nazi Germany in his name, in Fleetwood Mac's name! The only way for anything to be rectified is to spread the word. We need to send "The Knight" a strong and clear message that he is WAY OUT OF LINE.

Sorry if I appear to be a bit overzealous, but I am PISSED. If YOU are as well, then PLEASE do something about it!

And thank you, Marty, for speaking out about this. We all know that the Penguin will always be the REAL Fleetwood Mac website, and that The Ledge will always be the REAL Fleetwood Mac message board. Mr Nazi Knight could stand to learn a few things from you.

And I don't believe for one second that Mick doesn't know what's going on...
I talked to Jonathan Todd (The Knight) this morning on the phone. He claims that the entire band does know about the situation and that they feel awful about it. I'm inclined to not believe that. There's a clean-up going on there and I don't think it is in the interest of the fans. I believe it is an effort to cover some behinds. The MickFraudwood thing is in motion (at least, I've been working on what I was told I should do) and wouldn't be surprised if the deletion and bannings are an effort to downplay the problems in case any media should take a look at the boards.

Has anyone been over there? Are my most recent posts (some rather long ones) in the "complainers" thread still there?

John

It is nicer here, in spite of the fact that we are doing the same kind of criticizing! I think it's the fact that we don't have to live in constant fear of being banned. I mean, bannings and deletion here are only done when people are being downright mean. Over there it's like nothing to get deleted. It happen all the time. Once you're deemed unuasable as tool for the promotion of the board/fan club, you're deleted or, worse, gone!

I just wanna thank the Ledge for being here!!!

John

I don't believe for one minute that the band knows what's going on. Maybe Mick but that's it.
