I was in the car today, and heard two songs that I had heard before, but I realized that both of them were nice and light, and made me smile. I thought it would be cool if we all shared songs that make us feel the same way.
First: LEN-Steal My Sunshine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOCRPrEAVxU Second: Plain White T's- 1234 I Love You http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1LwS6-g-7E Enjoy!!!

I have so many songs to contribute to this thread, but I especially like Obadiah Parker's acoustic cover of Outkast's "Hey Ya". When I get home, I'll load it up on MediaFire and share it here. Totally changes the entire song.
"Dreamcatcher" - Andy McKee "No One's Gonna Love You" - Band of Horses "Yellow (piano version" - Coldplay "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" - Death Cab for Cutie "Save The Day" - Jose Gonzalez "Slow Show" - The National (Boxer is one of the best albums EVER-- everyone should check it out) "Answering Bell" - Ryan Adams "Go Easy" - Ryan Adams & the Cardinals I'll stop before this list gets insanely long... |

I think there will probably be some jail time involved for posting something so "sappy" on the Internet...
But how can 'ya go wrong with "You Light Up My Life" by Debbie Boone? The "feel good song of the '70s." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxo0lsJnx-U The other one that comes to mind is "Don't Stop Believin' " By Journey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CNB1EUJg1-w And for me personally, "Wheel in the Sky."

I go more in for angst than sunshine, but I've always been a fan of The Veronica's- Forever. It's just light, catchy pop, and it makes me smile.

My current feel-good song is Scissor Sisters' "Take Your Mama," but for it to work properly, it HAS to be the performance they did of it at the Brit Awards a few years back.
Singing watermelon patch! I want a singing watermelon patch. I watch that and I am instantly happy.

I like jams from the great funk/R&B bands of the '70s, like Parliament.

For me, there's nothing like a live version of my favorite song by my other favorite band:
