Default Presales Everywhere Not Worth It

hey all!
I have been reading about the not so good seats with the fan club presale. I am concerned cause I joined and when mine go on sale am sure it won't be any better. So my question is, will the actual public onsale tix be better? I will be curious to see who gets seats there and if they are better. If they are, I want a refund on my membership.

I did a presale for the Rolling Stones - also cost $60 and was 20 rows back and got into ticketmaster right at the time they went on sale. I tried to do presale for Matchbox 20 this morning (luckily that one was free from a local radio station) but the tix were awful and none on the floor. I declined even buying them.

So I think presales are not worth it. I don't know why they say they have the best seats, but they don't.

Anyway, please post here after public tix go on sale so we can see what selection there is of that!
Lauren

Hey Lauren-

I'm not satisfied with the fan club seats either, and I have to say that I'm going to be skeptical of these sorts of presales in the future. That said, if someone is worried about not getting seats at all, then the fan club would be worth it.

But, I have had great seats with presales done through John Mellencamp's fan club, where they take your name, credit card info, shows you want to go to and number of seats and then charge your card, and the tickets are waiting for you at Will Call (sometimes with backstage passes outside of larger markets) -- no Ticketmaster fees, great seats, and the good feeling that someone in the artist's management cares. Not so here. I also had great luck with a Lilith Fair presale that I got access to for buying a Lilith CD from an online CD store in Canada, but that's old news, I guess.

Anusha

PS: Congrats on the upcoming wedding etc. Nice to come back and see some familiar faces coming back too.

HI Anusha!
Good to see you and yes, it's nice to see some old faces. I just came back to post myself and help Marty with the lyric interpretations with the new album. How have you been? What is new with you?

Yes, in 3 mos from tomorrow I will be married! Yikes!!! it's fun planning but soooo much work. I also am doing most of it myself. But it's coming along. I have to order my invitations today. Seems every week is a new deadline for something.

John Mellencamps club sounds great in the way that they do all that for the fans. I was kind of hoping with the FM presale we really would get some good seats - not just one or two people. i will probably get tix on the presale and then check on the public sale day and if they are better get those. I am spoiled cause I was in the 3rd row for the Dance but as you know I won those tix.

The good thing about our seats for the Stones last month was even though we were 20 rows back we were right next to Stage B - where they performed the last set. It was like being right next to them!

Anyway, hope you are well and good to see you!
Lauren
