Default What songs would you like Stevie to cover?

Hi everyone,

I'm listening to Jackson Browne right now and for the first time ever (I don't know why because I've heard this song so often) I have the idea that Stevie could possibly cover one of his songs quite well...

Late For The Sky???

What do you think? Now before you all go crazy and say NOOOOOOO I know that it's one of Jackson's main songs, and I love it, so nobody is more surprised than me to have this pop into my head! Maybe I'm a bit hungover or something, who knows...?

So what do you think? While going down this road, what other songs do you think she could pull off? Lets see just how random our thoughts are! Haha...

Let the debate begin...

I so agree with you....totally...NO more covers....do your own songs/new or old....do your OWN catalog.....thank you very much....IMO anyway......of course "New" would be nice......but it sure isn't looking like it right now......heck we can't even get remasters......I don't think we'll be getting anything new anytime soon.....sad but true......

I'd love her to do more covers...some of my favorite Stevie songs are her cover versions. I'd love to hear her tackle "Disturbia" by Rihanna.

She covered enough songs in the last few years. It's time for some original material.

And Lindsey could do some Eminem, since he's a fan.

That song was originally written for Stevie by Bernie Taupin (Elton John's lyricist -- and one of the greatest writers in my opinion). According to Ann Wilson...

"She felt it wasn't right for her. You can tell what they were going for, with that as a Stevie song, especially lyrically. It's very mysterious and misty. It probably would have been "expected" if she'd done it. Although musically, it is nothing like anything Stevie's ever done."

I think Ann is spot on with those comments. However, if Stevie ever did a cover album, I hope it would be in another genere. Her outstanding performance of "At Last" shows she could excel with Etta James' covers and others of that ilk.

After the way Etta treated Beyonce, Stevie might be afraid to perform Etta James' music.
