Oh well.
Yeah, when the SYW publicity was first starting, I remember LB talking about Hawaii too and how he wanted to go to Hawaii, but someone had to stay and mix the record, but I gather he was just talking about being the one to stay and approve what Needham was doing. I think Stevie was saying that Lindsey knew all of the nuances over her and John and Mick, rather than over Lord-Alge.

It should not be the job of Stevie's personal assistant to contribute anything to a musical decision-making among the band members. Although she may be surprised to hear it, Karen is not a member of Fleetwood Mac.

Alternatively, it is Karen's job to ensure that Stevie Nicks gets to her hairdresser on time, & packs her favorite jammies for the tour.

Agreed. His mix of Say You Will was fantastic also.

besides Stevie laughing at the fish...THAT moment u described in my most favorite from DR it's like, Linds, no, we're not gonna fight about this, lindsey stop being a baby. Karen, stop making this worse. Mama just wants a rest all rolled into one

And, for the record, I know several people whose cards, bears, etc. she's acknowledged and even called them later about. So, I have first hand knowledge that she does care even though she may not acknowledge all of them that way. How could she?

In the end and to me, LukeA (who is still I believe kind of young) is either careless in his use of adjectives (etc.) or he used them to incite. To these and many others' ears they are rarely accurate in a literal sense.

He does, however, seemingly have a working knowledge of the way concerts are booked etc. And, that is pretty cool.
Jason, was your opinion of Luke really necessary here?

And, wasn't JohnL directing his question to Luke?

If LukeA makes statements like that, he will get a response. In the end, I like LukeA and find most of his posts informative. I was just calling him on his BS, which he has been
called before by me and others.

As for JohnL asking LukeA and not me, anyone can respond to anything
around here

Having said that, if LukeA wants to explain how he
knows this, I'm all ears

Oh...
By the way, I call BS on your above post.

I guess I get Luke's humor...mosttimes I'm laughing. IMO he provides a differing, yes sometimes controversial, POV and I like that. Oh, and I could verywell say the same of you.

I find a lot of similar familiarity statements when viewing various topics on this board and other boards...the knowing of this.that about a band member. I've learned best to use the words maybe and perhaps a lot.

As for gifts and such that Stevie receives, IMO I think it may depend upon when she receives. I think she is a very in the moment type of person...providing heartfelt smiles and sincerely appreciating the adoration, thoughtfulness from the fans...etc. and perhaps, as you mention, taking the time to contact lateron those that really touched. Does she take items home to cherish forevah? I'd be more curious if that happened.

Based on her comments anything written that looks like a song likely goes unread because she was sued (unsuccessfully) for plagarism regarding "Sara.". Personal notes are sometimes read because people have been contacted later about them. Flowers and other things with just a card likely are appreciated but not acknowledged because how is she going to find some chick named "Jane" after the concert. Even if the card had contact information, she certainly cannot be expected to personally contact and thank like 100 people a night or take them home with her - but that does not mean she did not appreciate the present there was an interview a few years ago where she said she gives the stuffed animals to charity and makes potpourri/shachets out of the flowers. That indicates she cares.

In the end, I think she appreciates them based on what I personally have seen and what others have told me.

She got a diamond and sapphire bracelet once, she had it appraised and it was worth thousands, I bet she cherished THAT gift forevah (even though she sings for the things money can't buy...)

oh, that's really sweet. Would love to see any articles/interviews where she discusses that. And, if anyone on this board has personal stories of letter/gift interaction with Stevie that they would care to share, that certainly would be an interesting read. I really liked the article where someone asked about her dresses; where she kept them, etc. Stevie should do more interviews that allow for fan Qs.

I do not think Karen was contributing anything musically. I think she was just corroborating La Nicks' statement.

LOL - perhaps - though La Nicks likely could as many of those for herself that she wanted and still have millions to boot.

But - here is that TISL interview from www.nicksfix.com

_______________________________________________

JT: I understand completely. I’m John Tesh, our special guest today, Stevie Nicks. Stevie, I want to talk about your fans for just a second. What is the most amazing thing a fan has ever done for you?

Stevie: Well the most amazing thing a fan has ever done is sent me a $50,000, incredible diamond bracelet.

JT: Come on! You’re kidding!

Stevie: That was many years ago, and I have this bracelet. I wear it. And I told this woman, "You know, really, you need to take your bracelet back. Because this is like a family heirloom." It is like, about an inch and a half thick wide. And it’s all diamonds, and about five beautiful blue sapphires. And she just sent it to me. And I tired to get her to take it back, and she wouldn’t. And I said, "Well, it’s always here for you. Anytime you want your bracelet back, it’s here. All you have to do is call and I will have it back in your hands by the next day." So that’s the most incredible. And it’s SO beautiful, this bracelet. So that’s really my most incredible fan gift.

JT: Great story…so what about the weirdest thing?

Stevie: You know what, I don’t really get any weird stuff, because my fans are all, like, unicorn, stuffed animal people. So all the things that they send me are really nice.

I stood next to Karen at the front desk at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas in 2005. she was very like panicky. I don't know how to describe it. I couldn't ever make out exactly what she was doing, but I think she was checking Stevie out of the hotel...or whatever celebrities do. anyway, she was really frazzled and waving her hands and all that. she had her sunglasses on her head (as usual), a moon necklace and 2 suitcases with floral print.

I completely agree with everything you said. If a fan letter/gift stands out, she tends to make the effort.
