I am choked also that the concert was canceled, what can you do right? Maybe on the postponed show they might do a extra encore? lol I had a big evening planned out tonight which included a nice dinner out etc, but meh, they are coming back right so!

Fleetwood Mac is human, and I know for those who came in from Regina it is probably cold comfort, but people get sick.

I was watching on CTV about a guys who was a big Stevie Nicks fan and named her kids Rhiannon and... "rumour". These kids were pretty young, Tusk had already come out... what about Sara? lol Either way, they must be sisters of the moon.

And I believe that the Mick had a bad experience back in the day in Calgary, where he first cheated on his wife on a tour during the Calgary Stampede (according to his book).

Cheated on his wife? Was the episode he tells about having a woman at the room ans she answered the phone, and oh bad luck It was Jenny..? I remember he told he was not the kind of guy to be with groupies, but that day he did it, once, and Jenny discover him!!

And yes, Fleetwood Mac is human, and in their 60s. According to their performance, wouldn't be surprised Stevie is the sick, she looked tired. Good mood, but tired, slow.

Ah - a story is on the local CTV news about this! And now they're showing a clip of Dreams from some show on the Unleashed tour. They're showing clips of pissed off fans and two girls named Rhiannon and Rumour. Oh - and a guy with an Alberta license plate of "STVNKS" or something along those lines. Here's Monday Morning! And a pimping of the Saskatoon show.. they said it was sold out. LOL - Manfred just said something about Stevie "croaking" her way through a show!

I think it's hilarious that people are traveling all the way from places like Regina to see them in Alberta where they're playing in Saskatoon, two hours away.

Don't forget that the Alberta shows were on sale months before the Saskatoon date even showed up. It's like me... I bought a Vancouver ticket thinking they weren't coming here (Wpg), and I bought a Wpg ticket too... I'm just hanging on until tomorrow to see what happens with Vancouver... I can cancel my flight and get the credit for another time if the show is postponed, but I'd rather not go to Vancouver just to find out they aren't playing... So hopefully if they do postpone the show, they at least do it early tomorrow to give anyone travelling a heads up.

Unhappy Oh no!

Awww... that's a shame that someone is sick. Whoever it is, I hope they get well soon. And I hope it's not the H1 N1 Virus aka Swine Flu.

Yes you're right...althought they weren't actually playing during the Stampede, like Mick said...just at the Stampede Grounds I guess. I checked the dates and they don't match up. Haha!

The no-go Fleetwood Mac show by Poncho Parker

Murphy's Law played the ace up the sleeve last week and ultimately nixed my chances with Nicks, of the Stevie kind. For anyone who had to charge their kids room and board in order to afford a Fleetwood Mac ticket, I feel your frustration, regardless if your name is Rhiannon or not.

Tickets for the Calgary show that didn't take place weren't exactly on the cheap side of a finback either. If you're charging your fans a minimum of $200 for a seat that isn't wide enough to house an anorexic standing sideways, you had better show up to play the gig because even Cold FX pills aren't even that pricy, I don't care how bad of a case of the sniffles you have. Put into another perspective, I would have needed to cash in 4,500 empties for a pair of tickets and that well exceeds my capacity over the course of spring season of sipping the wobbly pops.

I should state that my ticket company did let me know that the concert would not happen — 24 hours after the fact and long after I burned half a tank of fuel cruising the Trans Canada. This leads me to believe that makers of concert tickets are the same people that convert the fuel we put into our station wagons and half tons, but I'll save that conspiracy theory for a later date.

This isn't the first time Fleetwood Mac has given the golden handshake to a concert and if I didn't have such a thing for Stevie Nicks, I would have refunded those pricey little pieces of cardboard the moment I found out. A lot like a high-wire walker that's fallen without a net, I'm clinging onto a very cheesecloth like, onion skin transparent glimmer of hope that they won't pull a 1997 stunt and cancel the show altogether.

Much like the dude who lands the 60-pound trout and can't take a picture because of his faulty Polaroid camera and has to throw the monster back, the lawdy mama took time off work and I even scheduled my holidays around the show that didn't happen. And then I heard about the people who travelled as far away as Fort McMurray to check out Fleetwood Mac, rolling down the blacktop in their Gremlin, risking the Highway of Death and the hundreds of dollars it would have taken to drive to Calgary, only to be shunned away at the door. That's got to set some sort of road trip record, I'm sure, if nothing else. If 25,000 strangers can manage to drive, crawl and hitchhike their way to the Saddledome for a few hours of what should have been 'Mac magic, then it shouldn't be a problem for four musicians with mounds of disposable income to do the same.

And if you ever wanna chat about nothing or everything, you can find me hosting 'Poncho in the Morning', on Medicine Hat's Best Rock, Rock 105.3 every weekday from 5:30-11 a.m.
