Default Getting PUMPED for Tulsa concert tonight!! (Who's excited??)

Hey everyone,

I was listening to Sirius this morning at work and literally switching channels that usually play FM all morning trying to find a FM song, in preparation for my big night tonight.

I was *this close* to calling Sirius and demanding they play a track, and thankfully I heard "Gypsy" at about noon. I was so damn happy. It was hard not singing along in front of my customers.

SO, who's going, and who's excited?

- Spike

I can't make it out there tonight, but where are you sitting?
I might look for you if I know where you'll be.

Has the set list changed? I hope not. It was good when they started the tour.

Tulsa World

Fleetwood Mac, the multi-Grammy winning, multi-platinum Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, is back on the road for the first time in five years after several successful solo projects. It's also fresh off a tour last year that sold out venues across the globe.

The British-American rock act formed in 1967, and will make this tour with members Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham and John McVie. Some of the band's biggest hits include "Go Your Own Way," "Say You Love Me," "Over My Head," "Tusk," "The Chain" and "Dreams." They've recorded more than two dozen albums.

In a recent interview, longtime member Lindsey Buckingham ruminated all things Mac, a band with a long history of monster successes, flops, rebirths, infighting, drug abuse, sobriety, breakups and make-ups.

Buckingham summed up the band's magnetic and sometimes chaotic chemistry in a recent interview: "We are a group of great contradictions, a group that in some strange way probably doesn't really have any business being in a band together because of the range of sensibilities is disparate.

"But that's in fact what makes Fleetwood Mac what it is. It's the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. It's the kind of energy that is created from that kind of contrast in personalities."

Also, band members Nicks and McVie commented on the tour name, "Unleashed," in the telephone interview transcript received by the Tulsa World.

Said Nicks: " 'Unleashed' to me meant unleashing the furies, unleashing us back into the universe. 'Unleashed' to me was an edgy term of throwing this amazing musical entity back into the world that we had been away from for 4 years.

"And so we I never looked at it as being as being 'leashed.' I looked at it as unleashing a fury which is what Fleetwood Mac is a lot of the time."

When asked whether fans could handle the fury, the quips were short and certain.

McVie: "No."

Nicks: "It's heavy. You might have to wear your armor."

I'm in the highest level, but right in front of the band. Lowest row of the top level, right in front of the stage.

I have to ask- how can you look for me if you can't make it there? The mysterious David strikes again.

I'm assuming maybe once they can do a concert series and not change the setlist. As long as they don't drop anything good, I don't mind if they sub anything in, I'm more concerned about losing tracks from Tusk altogether, like Sara or Storms. But I'm not going to worry about it too much.

I'm too damn PUMPED!!

My sentiments exactly. And it's my first time taking the plunge to see the 'Mac also.

We (my wife and I) just heard "Stand Back" on the radio on the way home and were singing feverishly- I wonder if it's going to be a good version tonight.

All I can say is that tonights performances of "Gold Dust Woman" & "I'm So Afraid" were the best, repeat the BEST versions I have EVER heard in concert...Stevie & Linds, respectively, torn those suckers up!

I'll give a full review later today (Monday), I have YET ANOTHER dentist appointment.

Btw, Am I the only person who noticed the newly recorded version of "Stephanie" playing on the P.A. pre-show??? I know DavidMN also heard it.

Great show last night! The whole band was en fuego. Both Stevie and Lindesy were on top of their games. No lack of energy for Stevie this time.

Im not going to say too much here because I want to do a detailed review of all 5 shows Im going to next week when I get back from Denver. But without question, this was the best oout of the 15 shows Ive seen so far this tour. Gold Dust Woman may have been the best Ive ever seen live. Amazing! Oh and I met Brian(Estranged4life) out back of the venue and we got a chance to hang out for a few hours before the show and for awhile after. I must say this here. Brian is without a doubt one of the most real, genuinely nice people Ive ever met. I hope all of you get a chance to hang out with him someday. Brian I love ya buddy!

I know Dave. I've had the luck to hang out with him for quite some hours before the july 1st show 2003 in OKC. Genuine and cool indeed.

on "I'm So Afraid", Linds' soloed alot more than usual and you could tell from the energy, that both he and the band were giving, that there was something magical occurring. He finished to a complete standing ovation of everyone in attendance (The arena was very packed - a very good turnout for a Sunday night show) and from the look on his face afterwards you could tell he knew something magical did indeed just occurred.

Stevie's voice sounded very strong on "Gold Dust Woman", she held the "Go Home" line at the end a lil' longer than I had previously heard. She seemed very premeditated in her lines, as if she was thinking how to make this version one to remember - Trust me Gerald, this show (Minus 1 song) SMOKED the July 2003 OKC that both you & I saw in energy & performance.

As for the pre-show instrumental music that played on the P.A. - I was able to pick out "Stephanie", "Bleed to Love Her" & "Red Rover".
