My Mac cd compilation for a friend

Hi everyone,

A friend of mine is belatedly getting into the Mac after listening to one of my many copies of Rumours and watching the classic albums show. She seems to be a Stevie fan more than Lindsey right now. I'm going to get her into Tusk soon enough, haha. Anyway, she asked me for a cd of Mac material (post '75) and so I spent some time today making a cd for her. I've also done a Stevie solo one (see the Stevie board if you want).

Anyway, I know that these kind of things are always good to discuss and rile people, haha, and so I thought I'd share my finished tracklist with you and see what you thought.

I set myself some rules: every album with Lyndsey and Stevie had to be represented and I would stick to the big hits, key songs and best album tracks (in my opinion, obviously). Since she knows Rumours very well I didn't put too many on from there. I started out not having any on at all but it just didn't seem right.

I'd also like to hear what you think of the sequencing since I was constantly changing before finally settling on this one.

By the way, I tried to put both Angel and Storms on but neither of them would copy properly to the cd. I think it's an isue with the cheap cd's I was using!

So, here's what I've come up with....

10. I Know I'm Not Wrong (it was a tough call between this and The Ledge)

17. Big Love (Live from The Dance)
18. Miranda
19. Tango In The Night
20. Gold Dust Woman

I know Mirage is underrepresented but it's never been a favourite album of mine and anyway, Gypsy is one of the best Mac songs that Stevie has ever done so that makes up for that!

I thought about either of those but Hold Me has just never really done it for me. I am thinking now that Eyes of the World could have been good. Perhaps between Little Lies and Sara... Damn, I forgot that doing this post could make me question my final cd, haha!

Oh well, there's always volume 2....

I know you listed some of these songs but I would do something like: Blue Letter, Brown Eyes, Sisters of the Moon, Oh Daddy, Gold Dust Woman (preferably live in Japan, 1977), What Makes You Think You're the One, Little Lies, Everywhere, Hold Me, Think About Me, You Make Loving Fun, Smile At You (angry version!), The Ledge, I'm So Afraid (something live), Not That Funny, Over and Over, Angel, Storms, Fireflies and The Farmer's Daughter. It's an odd mix. And maybe a fantastic live version of Why from '75.

Hahaha! What a polite objection - love it! Said 'typos' happen because yeah, cd's are far too short!

Yeah, I'm with you there!! But a good list for someone just starting out!!

Yeah, even limiting it to the hits and best album tracks it was tough!
