The Coliseum, where USC plays, is where Lindsey, Stevie, & Mick appeared at a halftime show in a USC-Arizona State game in October 1980 to give the Trojan Marching Band an award. Dodger Stadium is where the band recorded the Trojan Marching Band horns & percussion for the TUSK album -- that was June 1979.

This is a photo from one of the Los Angeles gigs at the Inglewood Forum in December 1979. The Trojan Marching Band played on "Tusk" during all five nights at the Forum. You can see them on the risers in the pic. I was in attendance & I was very sober. I took a few of my own shots (camera, not tequila) at the Forum & up in San Francisco, too. If I can find them, I'll post them.

Two or three of these Forum gigs are also on audio tape. They're darn-tootin' good performances. The great Jim Welander also took some great shots of Stevie Nicks at these gigs. A few of them were published in a very old issue of Hot Wax.

Here's some audio snip from L.A. local news coverage of the Inglewood Forum concerts:

Thank you.

Hmm. Your decision to add that information is somewhat troubling. I know it was 1979, but I had no reason to suspect you were not sober until your superfluous interjection in affirmation. Having read it, I'm now pretty sure you were as smashed as 7th century clay pottery.

Wow, that was a blast from my past! Thanks for those audio recordings. I was at one of those shows at The Forum. I remember the USC marching band sat in the section next to where I was sitting (which was off to the side) to watch the show.

Does anyone have the set list for those Forum concerts? I'll have to find my ticket to see which night I was there. It was my first time seeing them and I was so excited to see Stevie Nicks for the first time. I had a cold so I wasn't feeling well and I was disappointed that Stevie Nicks kept going off stage to change her clothes.

Great memories!

TUSK!
