At this very moment the opening cords of Monday Morning are being played. Our dear band is in Orlando-less than a mile from my house and I’m not with them. I’m sitting at home sipping a glass of wine with the candles flickering and listening to Tusk (back to front) typing this. Part of me wants to be in the middle of Amway Arena escaping from life, but I just couldn’t come to buy the ticket. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a total Chiffon Head--- Really I have a shawl that I made myself- out of chiffon. But I was totally disappointed with the build-up and let down of this tour. From the lack of new material, the lack of new promotional pictures, the high (er) prices for a decent ticket, the “fans” that scream at me for wanting to stand up for the entire show, the Unleashed title, the comments made from various members of the band… touring is like going to Iraq..is what really did it for me I think? My mind was made up even before opening night.
And then I logged onto the Ledge opening night and read the reviews and saw the set list as it was being played (what a great night that was on the ledge) and they gave us Storms! I was so happy they pulled it out, but it still wasn’t enough; and then came the photos of that red dress. That breathtakingly beautiful red dress… I thought I must GO… But I knew I wouldn’t, I couldn’t. I was proving a point to myself and to the band. I was not going to support the unleashed era; I just couldn’t force myself to do it. They have disappointed me. Yet I find myself in a blue mood… I’m already regretting it and they haven’t even gotten to dreams yet… Anyway I guess I’m sad that I’m sitting here when I could have been sitting listening to one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever. Did anyone else boycott and then regret it later? |

I kind of get your rationale, but would find it hard to boycott the band if it was that close to me. I too am disappointed in no new promotional photos, but am just happy they are touring... well to be honest, I wish they were in the studio right now because if this tour is as long as Stevie is saying, it could turn into SYW part 2, as in a tour that goes on and on and on and a year or more goes by and who knows if they will get in the studio or not.
However, I am enjoying the reviews, photos, and videos as the tour progresses and it appears the band is having fun (I hope). I understand you are feeling a bit blue, but I would do the same thing if could not go... I mean enjoying the evening with FM, just in another way.

They have to do something real bad to make me boycott.probably playing rap tunes or hiphop.I have not go to some country acts in the last ten years except Wynnona and a few others.in a couple of weeks I will be seeing Keith Urban at Mohegan Sun with some friends.

I understand where you are coming from. For the longest time I wasn't anticipating going at all but as time went by and great seats started popping up, I had a talk with my family and my mom and I decided to go and there are no regrets!!!
I thought the concert in Columbus was stellar, and it was the night of my life- it really was!

I'm boycotting for similar reasons myself. Plus, I'm being laid off in 2 months, and just can't justify the $170 ticket. If I made better money, I would likely swallow the whole experience with some bitching lol. But for the band to charge what they're charging now, they'd just have to work harder for my money. Why would I pay MORE to see essentially the same show I saw 3 times 5 years ago? Well, not the same, Stevie has ratcheted down her performance and energy level that much more, the band has no new material, and the tickets are pricier. It really breaks my heart I can't see them. I wonder every time they come through if it'll be their last. But I just can't do it this time... I really can't

overpriced, actually they are on par with others, ie, the Eagles...etc... I felt the same way initially when I read about the ILAA M&G @ $800.oo ea, but sanity prevailed, &, I coughed up the $$$$ for Detroit, (awsome), 5th row in front of Lindsey ......Toronto #1, (formally Albany), (fantastic), 4th row in front of Lindsey, ......Ottawa, (4 hr drive each way, well worth the drive), 1st row in front of Stevie, ......Toronto #2, (got two great tickets from Zombie that my Sister & Niece used), scored front row in front of Lindsey, each show was better than the previous one, I actually considered leaving work this morning at 7, (after 4 x 12 hr nightshifts), driving to Buffalo, catching a flight to Orlando, staying at the Marriot to attend your show in Orlando, but, due to a domestic situation, I did not, and this I do regret, You should have gone to the show................ I see their ability to continue as very finite, and as such when able I have flown all over the country to see the same ole' material over and over again, and had a blast! Now my two very small kids keep me from doing it much, but I could never have enough will power to boycott a show so close to home.

I'm so excited.. but I'm sure I'll be even more giggly the closer I get to it.. Come on, just to hear Lindsey play "Big Love" live is worth it, for me, let alone Stevie closing the night with "Silver Springs". And who doesn't want to hear "Storms", "Sara", "I Know I'm Not Wrong" , and the title track from Tusk- that was my major selling point, Tusk is my favourite FM album and I doubt we'll ever get a concert with this many Tusk songs played again- (at least) 4 is pretty darn good. - Spike |

Well, LACESUNDONE
I partially agree with you. I am not thrilled by the lack of new material/new album/new DVD/new WHATEVER... But, if I was still in orlando (just moved a month ago) I'd probably go see them anyway. Also, that being said, I've seen absolute zilch on YouTube that has impressed me from this tour.

You knew that! I went to the show in Anaheim. Tiff was there too! She creeped me out (Stevie, not Tiff).
