I can't comment since I haven't seen her on this tour, but I just wanted to go on record to say I hate when Stevie is referred to as "Mama".

I think I saw somewhere where she said she had Mitral valve prolapse. My step-daughter has that she was told, and she's only 30. It especially affected her during her pregnancies and her heart would race and it really gave her problems. It scared the crap out of her at times. Sure hope Stevie's alright. Anything to do with the heart isn't to be taken too lightly.

Oh, that's no fun. I've heard of that condition, and you're right- anything with the heart is serious!

Admittedly, I too find it annoying when Stevie is referred to as "Mama"... it's an inappropriate and disrespectful nickname for someone who was very deliberate in her decision not to become one. Onward....

I guess we could start calling her "Granny"... it's far more appropriate given her age, energy level, health problems, and stage wardrobe these days!

I hate it, too. I've taken to calling her Big Mama in protest.

I sorta got the impression that something was wrong with her too when I saw her in Columbus. It didn't matter though. Lindsey and Mick more than made up from it and the best vocal of the night was Storms. I did not think she sang Gypsy or Dreams or Silver Springs well at all.

I find it ridiculous & annoying for entirely different reasons.

Well, that's all very good and well and I'm happy it's your opinion. Because I don't agree. Lindsey may not look as line-less and his hair isn't quite as lustrous, but the man has the energy level of someone half his age. And in MY opinion, his is more the tortoise because it took him quite awhile to be at the point where he could be praised for his talents, on his own, on a consistent basis without being engulfed in Stevie's presence.

But it's all good. I don't think Stevie is "dragging" anything around, or down. She's simply doing what she can at her age, and I give her a lot of credit for going up there and showing she can still belt it out and making all her fans happy. She is a lovely lady and I thought she did fine.

Or La Nicks, or The Queen or whatever it is.

She's just STEVIE.

I haven't been lucky enough to see her in concert lately, but I recently got the Soundstage CD and felt she sounded just. plain. tired. There's nothing wrong w/slowing down. Menopause itself can do that to a lady. And it gets HOT and darn tiring under those lights. I know men go through something like that, too...don't they? OK, Lindsay is NOT your typical man.

I'd love to see her pull out some of the old, unreleased songs and put them out, polished by Stevie in the now. They brought out the softer side of her music, and I'm sure she could easily handle the notes.

BTW, it's great to find a site with lifelong fans to share with. Joined awhile ago but haven't said much. Kept out of a whole lot of Trouble.

Add me to that list. I always think of Martin Lawrence in Big Mama For a women who looks so incredibly good and sexy for her age, it's just so inappropriate.
