OMG I'm glad you told her about the African village. She must have gotten
a kick out of it. I am so glad you didn't get shuffle I hear ya, you wanted your
time with her after 7 hours......I could only imagine how the people
outside, they didn't hear the rules...So glad for you too and sorry about
that (nut) sorry some people can be annoying they don't mean to.
LOL

QUOTE=strandinthewind;811468]Well between the angry Asian beyotch behind the desk and the old guy infront of me droning on about some African village (I mean really ) - I almost got lost in the shuffle But, I very politely stood my ground and she realized what had happened. She then spoke very briefly to me and I thanked her. I also told her that the guy before me was talking about some African village (I think he invited her there while kneeling at the desk) - she laughed and then was manhandled to the next person. I hated to be pushy and/or possibly hurt the really nice guy behind me's time with her, but there was no way I was being shovwd out of there after waiting seven hours without speaking to her. I was very polite about it. So, I am pretty sure there was no harm done and I believe she got what was going on.[/QUOTE]

i started reading the rest of this massive thread last night
and i just have to say
some of you said Stevie seemed a lil nervous about this, first time and all
but from what i gather, you guys were all very well behaved, everything went well and i am so very impressed with your stories and how well it all went down, despite the # of people there
i know it wasn't all Ledgies, but props TO the ledgies that were there
makes me so happy to hear these stories
and how nice Stevie was to all of you

well done

I"m happy all that got there cds/dvds signed & there stories ....I'll have to go back & re-read some of them.....it'll take to long right now.....I just wish all of us die-hards could get stuff signed. Unfortunately, I live in Michigan....so couldn't do it....don't think I could anyway. I have major feet problems so standing for all those hrs would totally just kill me even for Stevie I couldn't do it.
I would love those large posters that were behind Stevie......there a good size too....
I've already seen signed dvd's and cds on ebay ......horrible high too.....'if' they were more afforable I'd buy one but 'not' at those high prices.....not worth it to me....not for anyones auto. I'd really love those 2 auto tambo's those are great looking....oh well...thanks for everyones stories......

Hello, friends. I am the Creature of the Night, and I am new to The Ledge. I discovered this only when stevienicks.info folded. I have learned so much from you people including the signing I attended with many of you. I had the same experience as most of you, that it was amazing and unforgetable. I was afraid I would not be able to keep it together when I was in front of Stevie, but I was a man on a mission. I was trying to wrangle an interview for the small N.W. Jersey radio station I am on. I knew I could not take too long, so I wrote out a personal invitation to her, and a more lengthy letter for Karen. I had read some of the posts mentioning Karen before and I was worried. She and I spoke for a few minutes, and she seemed interested in what I was saying, and promised to read the letter and to pass it on to H.K. Whether anything will come of it, who knows, but at leastthe mission was accomplished as far as getting the information into the right hands.

The main reason for this post however, is to share the experience of my friend who went with me. I read in an earlier post that the writer was "not enthralled" by Stevie until they were looking into her eyes. Same with my friend. He quite frankly, couldn't give a hoot in Hell about Stevie Nicks. His whole function that day was to help me navigate the subways, and try to photograph me with Stevie somehow (it didn't happen due to the sardine can approach to lining us up on the stage). He was bored out of his mind all day. I didn't keep track of him while I spoke to Karen, but we met up on the third floor afterward. He said to me, "...Jesus, when she took my hand, and looked me in the eye, and said hi to me, I felt a shiver go through me like I never had before. I never felt anything like it. She is amazing!" No kidding. Now, I don't think he will ever convert to Nicksism, like me, but I know he'll never rag on me when I talk about how I feel about her again.

Thanks Ledgies. If not for you I might not have known about this signing, and might never have had the opportunity to meet Stevie on a night that I will be talking about on my show for a long time. I met some of you, and have already benefitted from it.
Thanks also for posting your pics. I makes up for mine not coming out.

Glad to hear that you had a wonderful experience, but I think your friend's reaction, as a complete non-fan, was interesting- he pretty corroborates everything we have experienced. It's that "moment," when she looks you in the eyes and it's like a searchlight in the night has kind of pierced through your being. Your friend has officially been deep-nixed.

Hey there - glad you got on!

Remember when we were getting the items we bought and were about to go on the stage and the guy in front of me started to cause all that trouble because he wanted items not on his receipt - he's the one

And, those two BN employees were just rude. I totally get that time was an issue, but they went too far when they started yelling and throwing things. And, it was just those two because all the other BN people were exceptionally nice.

Nice to meet you!

The thing about the hand-grabbing that I thought was neat (and she didn't do it for everyone, but a lot), was that... at least for me anyhow... SHE initiated it. I got the feeling she waited for people to say something a lot of the time.

I said thanks for doing this and at that point she was prepping the pen. When I said it, she looked up at me, right in the eyes, and made a point to make eye contact then said it was HER pleasure to be there. It was then that she reached out, across the table, for my hand and I was absolutely stunned. Not too stunned because I saw her holding other people's hands before me, but I wasn't sure she'd do it for me also and I didn't want to initiate it. I was absolutely floored. She reached right out over the table and man it made me feel special, even knowing she did it to hundreds of other people.

It was like she was reading vibes or trying to feel the person's aura or something. She was so patient, polite and... respectful to everyone. She even complimented a girl before me on her small hands which made me smile.

I usually don't get star stuck or stuff like that but I admit I was in a bit of a daze walking off, not sure where to go or what to do. Heh.

Stevie's tops. I hope to meet her again some day.

I totally agree with you! You are right though she did not grab everyone's hands and SHE did initiate it which I thought was so awesome. She reached out and grabbed mine too...I am still knocked out about this whole experience still. I was so different from any Edge Walk I have experienced!!
