I was the first person on the cash register cutoff line. We stood at the register for about 90 minutes before we were able to buy and get the magic receipt for the fourth floor.

I think she signed for every single person who showed up. I don't know if B&N closed off the line, but it looked like there were 250 or so more people behind me who had been seated when I got up to her around 9:30.

She was so sweet, taking a second to take your hand and look into your eyes. So genuine.

I wasn't expecting that, I was just expecting assembly line.

Made some friends on the line ... and I hope they're future Ledgies!

I got the event at about 12:45. I in the initial section, which was cool. I made it up to see her by about 7:30, so the line really moved. The BN people were reaslly nice, but the ones at the table were rather rude.

So, La Nicks walks up to the desk, grabs the mic and and says "Want to know why I have invited you here [may she said gathered you here - it was very loud] ? We are all going to be put in a spaceship and flown to another planet!" "eek: Or something like that. It was hysterical.

When I got to the podium, they brought this lady up in a wheelchair. I thought La Nicks was going to burst into tears when talking to her. She was saying something like thanks for making the effort to see me, I know it is hard - or something like that. Then, the guy in front of me stepped up, KNELT DOWN, and proceeded to invite her somewhere. As they were ushering him away, my DVD got singed and handed to me without her speaking to me. The guy started to push me away when I politely said "thank you Miss Nicks" - she realizewd what has happened and was sort of shy about it. We chatted very broefly about the guy in front of me and then she smiled and said thank you and I was out of there. I really felt like she saved the day because I almost got shoved out of there after seven hours of waiting without her seeing me. So, kudos to her.

Now - about her people and the handlers at the desk. When people wait for seven or more hours, it is HIGHLY rude to speak about these people as if they are not in the room, to wit: "HURRY THESE PEOPLE UP" "THESE PEOPLE ARE TALKING TOO MUCH" etc. With respect, the process was moving way quickly and very well. She signed the first 144 in about 45 minutes. So, while there were many more waiting, it was very inconsiderate to speak of the fans as if they were an aggravation as opposed to the butter on the bread

In any event, I had a great time and it was great to meet all the ledgies.
That spaceship quip was priceless! How cool for all of you guys!!! I'm glad so far it's seemed to have gone well. (Despite the sometimes rude staff)

The space ship line was FAB.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And, the rude people did not rain on this fan's parade. In fact, the guy to the left of the desk when your looking at it was the one who tried to manhandle me out of there and I just did not budge until politely got her attention

Also -- prior to signing she went on about how she did not have a book out, but felt like she had one and then romanticized that the DVD/CD was like a book. Withing that, she sort of suggested without suggesting that she needed to write a book.

She was happy, energetic, lively, playful, pixie like, etc. It was quite a day!

LOL! Not smoking silly- just a little Blackberry Brandy and Diet Coke (with a cherry).

I'm glad you had a good experience too, Curtis. Did you wear your lucky charms t-shirt?

That's so funny.

Everyone's stories have been great to read. The way it was set up it sounds more like a gathering or event than a "line." No wonder the time went by so fast and the pay off sounds fantastic.
