Default Ticket Question

Hey guys, I've been checking out this board for a while now, but rarely post. I'm excited to be going to my first FM concert this spring and have already purchased my tickets for the May 8th Kansas City show. My ticket is floor level around 20 rows back and I'm hoping to find a ticket closer to the front row. I was reading a topic here a few months ago about how Ticketmaster will drop tickets as the date gets closer and I just pulled 5th row floor level tickets. I guess my question is: How long should I wait? I'm afraid if I pass up on the one I'm pulling now, I won't be able to find a better one!! Sorry for the long post; I will try to contribute to the board more often

Hi there!

It basically depends on how steely your nerves are. If you can wait til closer to the date, then you MAY end up with much better seats. I snagged 3rd row center for opening night about 3 days before the show, and a couple other Ledgies got front rows around that time, too, for the same show (the jerks, haha).

Lots of people wait til the day of and see what they can get, but you have to be patient and willing to risk it. That's probably not a lot of help, really, but best I can do.

I am facing kind of a similar thing- The show I've been thinking about for months has popped up 14th row seats- which I know are not are amazing for most, but I'm thinking they'd be the best seats of any show I've been too- AND they're just sitting there, waiting. What is the likelihood that better seats will pop up in the next few days? This is really stressing me out!!

It's such a tough call. All we can say is that better seats, esp. single seats, have been popping up closer to show dates.
Don't know if that helps you or not. Best of luck, though!

it is a tough decision to wait it out but just to let you know i have done this for every show i have gone to in the last 5-6 years and the worst seat i have gotten is 7th row center. when fm opened in pittsburgh on march 1st i found 5th row then 4th row then 3rd row then bought 2nd row and then found front row. i remember freaking out and then calling tm to cancel my 2nd row seats. i know that ticketmaster says they have a no refund policy but the lady was really nice and refunded all of my money with no questions asked. so if you wait and find really good seats i say buy them and then call ticketmaster for a refund. its definitley worth it!!

I've waited until the show got closer and have never been disappointed with the seats I found. I've gotten anywhere from 1st to 5th row, if memory serves.

Well, I'll tell you what. I just purchased two 5th row seats- which is by far a dream come true, but I'll keep checking to see if anything better pops up. But seriously- 5th row- It doesn't get much better than that my friends!!!!

I've got many front row tix about a week before right up to the day before the show. I got front row for Shania Twain 4 hours before the show (man was that a mad rush down to the city ). There is nothing more sickening or nerve wracking then when you throw back a 3rd or 2nd row, looking for 1st row

So let's say I have section 9, row B, seat 5&6, and as the dates get closer, I can check back in and let's say get 2nd or 3rd row seats. Should I refund my money and then buy those tickets? are they the same price generally? And can you every move up without paying? Is there a chance you won't get refunded?

There is a major chance you won't get refunded, so keep that in mind. Sometimes TicketBastard will be nice, sometimes not. I've gotten stuck with seats, but I've seen others on here have success with getting a refund. So that's another risk you have to be willing to take.

That's a hard call- they say no refunds and stuff like that- but perhaps if you get in touch with someone nice.

But yeah, keep checking to see if better things pop up!!

Ohhh I see... well I'll wait until the concert gets really close and then see what I can get. Will two tickets nearer to the front be the same price as mine were, closer to the concert?
