you are absolutely right...if just a glimpse is what is meant to be then so be it...but the boards will be full of triumph and tribulation come Wed...

I'd love to actually meet her and will take this opportunity but at this point in my life, the part I'm really looking forward to is hanging out with my sister and cousin on the line (just not for 7 hours, we have to eat and pee!!)...it'll give us a good opportunity to talk without kids or husbands...

5. If some fool tries to cut in front of me with some lame a$$ place holding BS excuse, I can assure you I will have no problem having them thrown out. Hopefully, the number system will prevent this kind of BS.

I'm sorry and I don't mean to be rude in any way, shape or form or to start a war but..

If I am going to be standing in line with a friend and I need to use the restroom or to get a bottle of water NO ONE is going to tell me that I have to get to the back of the line. All long time Stevie fans should know to be respectful of others. If someone needs to step out of line then any real fan would hold their place. I am sorry but your about comment really bothers me. What if I was an insulin dependent diabetic and I needed to give myself a shot and need to get out of line? Are you telling me that you would have me thrown out? I think your words needs to be re-thought. If I am taking this the wrong way I apologize. I think as fans we all need to bond together and have a good time...but no one is going to tell me that I can't step out of line and have someone hold my place.
Food for thought.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Let me clarify, I was responding to the prior conversations about about people cutting in line. For example, one person stands in line for three hours, then at 7:00, ten never before seen people suddenly show up and join them. That is unfair to the people that were waiting for hours. It is cheating the other long waiting fans because these new people likely were too lazy to get their a$$e$ there and wait like everyone else. Even if they were not lazy and could not get there because of work, etc., tough shiitte IMO because everyone else there likely took off work or adjusted their schedules to be there. Finally, cutting line via a place holder is wildly different than a ten minute bathroom or insulin break for someone there originally. If you thought I was talking about that, you misunderstood what I was saying. Hopefully, BN will hand out numbers as people arrive, which will avoid cutters (as opposed to bathroom and insulin breaks).

Okay, let me clarify my earlier offer. I live in the city and can get to B&N early, early if need be, but I can't be there from about 2-5PM. If I got there at nine and waited until two and then came back at five, I would sure appreciate someone being willing to save my spot in line and I would certainly save their spot while they went to get dinner. Is there another Ledgie who's planning to get there at about 9 (or earlier) who would be willing to make that deal?

Interestingly, you will see many a person in line with a small cooler in which is their food and drink.

Again, hopefully, they will give out numbers or something like that so that people do not have to stand in the line all day long. In other words, you show up and they hand you a wristband or some other device for indicating where you are in the line. Then, you can leave and come back at like 5:00 (make the cut off time mandatory) and form the line in the order of the device. That is how I would do it. Sadly, these things tend to be WAAAAYY disorganized.

On a lighter note, I hope there are a ton of "Stevie's in drag" there. It would be a hoot and a half to see her signing their items while discussing make up tips.

I get exactly what you are saying! I think you are 100% right. People who have been waiting in line and then all of a sudden 20 of their friends are there...nope doesn't happen in my book! Sorry for the almost caused drama hahaha

It's all good. I am sure there will be many a war story posted here apres deluge.

I just remember how, as a kid, I used to camp out in front of Raccoon Records in Lafayette, Louisiana for concert tickets. This was in like 1984, when computers were a novelty

I remember in the 90's I worked in this little video store that was a TM outlet and you could actually choose the seats and row you wanted to...man I miss those day hahah I never paid service fees either cause the tickets were printed then and there...good old days.

My fav. is TM has the nerve to charge you a few bucks to print the ticket on your own computer

I usually go to the theater if I can and buy the tickets there, which means there is no sometimes almost 20% TM fee.

yep, hopefully, B&N does the wristband solution, it would save many misunderstandings and drama...but it still does not solve the profiteering issue....so there is always a built-in unfairness to any celebrity event...

I'm curious about what she'll be wearing. Does she do the whole platform boots & shawl thing when she does appearances like this? Or does she dress for comfort? A Yankees jacket and jeans? Did I really ask such a shallow question?

I have a question. My husband and I are going around 5 am getting there I guess
around 7 Do we need to bring a chair and cooler. I heard they will not
be giving out wristbands so does that mean we have to sit there all day.
I should call them up today.
Right?

1. You need to get there VERY EARLY - like no later than noon. Those buying plane or bus tickets and/or making expensive plans should take this advice or you could be disappointed. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure

2. La Nicks has a history of doing her duty for a few hours and then leaving. Then everyone who did not get there shiitte signed gets all pissed off because she signed "only" 500 or so items over a two or so hour period. These people left hanging after hours in line seem to lose sight of the fact that there was no guarantee she would be there for five hours. Again, she might stay for five hours, but why risk it - get there early.

3. These things are historically disorganized. The same old BS usually gets said afterward - like "we had no idea it would be this crowded" or "the demand far exceeded our expectations" -- If they are smart, they likely will hand out numbers to the people in line and stop after a certain point, like 300. Again, get there early.

4. If you are lucky, you will get 30 seconds with her. So, make the most of it

5. If some fool tries to cut in front of me with some lame a$$ place holding BS excuse, I can assure you I will have no problem having them thrown out. Hopefully, the number system will prevent this kind of BS.
