Such a nice lady. She consoled me and all. Anyway, I had to take a picture of the sign from the BN store. Just to share a little something here.

I hope you all have a good time and take pictures XXOO
Thanks for the heads up! I just PM'ed you. Let me know if you got it!

How exactly are you "calling me out"? I did not mince words at all, I freely said how I would feel about anyone jumping in line? The only thing you are doing is calling yourself out as someone who thinks they are entitled to do so because they are a "true" fan, by their own definition.
your original posts (three to be exact, I'm disregarding the threatening t-shirt post as that was meant to be humourous) are more like admonishments rather than an opinion...I have several times explained my position in several posts which you really should re-read but you fail to understand my main point which is basically "don't lecture strangers on moral ethics on such a minor thing"...that's the distilled version...

your original post was only three away from mine but you did jump into my conversation...please look back at the position of your original post...

and yes, I am a longtime fan, even during the Street Angel days so I don't feel I am on the same level as the casual fan and certainly not on the same level as an employee hired for a days work to stand in line for autographs who will never become Stevie Nicks fans...and that's not a fact, that's my opinion...

I'm not judging how other fans use this opportunity...

Besides my first post that was to clarify what people meant by "shifts", all of my others have been to respond to you. You aren't judging others who share your opinion, but you are judging me because mine differs from yours. I'm not telling you you can't line jump, that's your business, but if you or anyone else line jump in front of me, I will have a problem. I recognize there are many fans who will not get this opportunity; some have to work, some live too far away, but that's life. I have a job and a mortgage also. I took a vacation day so I could get on line earlier. That's the choice I made. If I didn't have the time I may have chosen to call out sick, and I don't feel you (or anyone) deserve to be in line in front of me or anyone else because you have to work and you have a delusion of entitlement because you have been a fan for x amount of years. You sound like Miley Cyrus at the Grammys because Radiohead didn't want to meet her. I can't help that you perceive my opinion as a lecture, but I don't feel I need to check with anyone to make sure they agree with me before I say what I think. Sorry if that upsets you.

I truly hope you do get to meet her, and that everyone who endures the journey and the wait in line does as well.

totally not upset just juxtapositioning your arguements about line position, place holding and even line jumping...there needs to be some balance here from a complete opposite point of view...

so you have insulted me twice...once by stating "grow up" implying that since I'm immature my opionion is not valid and now another crack again about immaturity by comparing me disparagingly to Miley Cyrus...both insults prove my point, you are a preacher who lectures and sermonizes, you like to reprimand and you are judgemental...it's really not me, I only point these things out...

oh, and please wear that t-shirt to the booksigning!!!

as you and I both know, there will be disappointment come Tuesday night here on the Ledge, we've both been on the Ledge a very long time...so I say the same to you, I hope you do get to meet her as well...best of luck!!

Here are some things to remember/tips from the voice of decades of experience with FM, La Nicks solo, and other artists:

1. You need to get there VERY EARLY - like no later than noon. Those buying plane or bus tickets and/or making expensive plans should take this advice or you could be disappointed. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of the cure

2. La Nicks has a history of doing her duty for a few hours and then leaving. Then everyone who did not get there shiitte signed gets all pissed off because she signed "only" 500 or so items over a two or so hour period. These people left hanging after hours in line seem to lose sight of the fact that there was no guarantee she would be there for five hours. Again, she might stay for five hours, but why risk it - get there early.

3. These things are historically disorganized. The same old BS usually gets said afterward - like "we had no idea it would be this crowded" or "the demand far exceeded our expectations" -- If they are smart, they likely will hand out numbers to the people in line and stop after a certain point, like 300. Again, get there early.

4. If you are lucky, you will get 30 seconds with her. So, make the most of it

5. If some fool tries to cut in front of me with some lame a$$ place holding BS excuse, I can assure you I will have no problem having them thrown out. Hopefully, the number system will prevent this kind of BS.

Food for thought

I wish Abby from NCIS was a real person because I would have here give me a pair of the "Double Naught Seven" streaming camera eyeglasses they used in a few episodes.

Of course, I'd forget to turn then off and then The Ledge would see me parading through every bar in Manhattan afterward and, likely, get an up close view of the gutter sometime after midnight of course, many on The Ledge have been there with me before . . . .

No, you def. should go there as soon as you get in the city and see what happens - the noon thing was just a suggestion, albeit a good one.

I am just saying the earlier you get there, the better off your chances are

Who knows, you may be able to stroll on in at 7:00 and get to get it signed. Seeing as how she is still very popular, she was just here in concert with FM, and they repeatedly advertised this in the Post, the NY Times, in other media, and in the store - I tend to think there will be throngs of people, many of which will be turned away.

Again, an ounce of prevention . . . .

thanks for the advice!!! it's appreciated!!!

ok, I will try but the idea of standing in line for 7 hours for a 30 second hello is just so annoying not to mention back-breaking...I'd rather do the dinner...

why couldn't she have done a book signing during the Street Angel days??

LOL - I KNOW!

I just remember the meet and greet in Phoenix with Henley and Mick in 1998 for the Enchanted tour. She sat at this table for a total of maybe two hours and met a bunch of people many of which lingered too long. Then, she had to get some award and go. The whole thing was beyond disorganized and many were frustrated, esp. after spending a bunch of money. It worked out great for me, but I can see where the others were coming from, though she did meet many people that night, including one scary lesbian who kept shrieking and crying at the table next to her. Note - this chick got to interview La Nicks for VH-1 shortly thereafter - so WTF do I know

Interestingly, FM had a cattle call meet and greet after a show in, I think Phoenix, for the SYW tour. Essentially, groups of four or five were brought in, hurriedly arranged for a photo, and then ushered out.

I can see the band/artists' point in that you just finished a three hour concert and then you have to be Mary Fukcing Sunshine for 500 people who are oogling you. None of us would want that BS after we got off of work.

In the end, I think some (meant in general - not directed at you ) get their hopes up in an unrealistic way and then they are let down. Personally, I think even if you could not get your DVD signed, it would be cool just to be in BN with her if you could watch from afar.
