Actually John varied what he said on the Dance tour. Sometimes when Chris said "and now it's time for us to bring Mick and John up close and personal" (etc) for SYLM, his responses ranged from "It's an ugly sight"(!) to "If my mummy could see me now", and variations thereon. I got the impression he didn't want to ham it up too much!

I was actually in the 2nd row at the Boston show where Lindsey made the "we didn't rehearse that" comment. That comment was actually taken completely out of context (even by a reporter...in the Boston Globe review?). What happened was right before "Big Love", a man in the front row actually yelled out a request for a song. Lindsey laughed at his request and said "we didn't rehearse that". It had nothing to do with the whole Stevie/Lindsey "Sara" interaction. Just wanted to clear that up because it was totally taken out of context (and understandably so!) I'm not ignoring the fact that there are staged things that Stevie and Lindsey have done, I just read that quote so many times and thought I'd explain what I saw and heard that night. ![]() |

But why was Stevie so mad at him after the SYW tour? You can tell from his lyrics in Under the Skin that Stevie was going through her own ****...trying to figure some things out, like how to interact in FM as the only woman, trying to figure out how to be a 60 year old "Queen" of Rock, etc, etc etc. She apparently was mad at Lindsey for leading the "boys club"........but mad enough for it to last four years? IMO, I think it's possible Stevie did not know how to cope with Lindsey being so happy and beloved onstage. He got alot of attention from the audience and press (I know he has in the past, but it seems like he was appreciated alot more during the SYW tour). Stevie was going through menopause, injured her hip and often seemed in slow mo (especially during the first leg of SYW), while Lindsey was just shining onstage. He looked like a young man, with bounds of energy and enthusiasm. Is that part of why Stevie was so angry with Lindsey? If so, I think it says alot about their dynamic. Does Stevie really want to see Lindsey getting alot of positive attention in Fleetwood Mac? It is possible there are things that happened offstage that pissed her off at him, but his lyrics and other comments he made when introducing UTS, make me think alot of it was their onstage dynamic. That dynamic had shifted from her being the enamoured, magic one, to them both being the centers of attention. Methinks she did not like that much. ![]()
