What they do is called "Pandering," as in pandering to an audience who wants to believe every little thing they write, play and perform has some deep-seated significance. Are some of their interactions genuine? After so many years together, of course they are. But, surely, it's no surprise to long-term fans that they milk their history to death...in a very pathological sense; Stevie much more so than Lindsey. But they are both such drama queens!

But there's money to be made from it. Look at the reaction just in this thread: "gah...drool," "warm & fuzzy," etc. etc. etc. We live in the Reality TV age -- which isn't something new in principle. It's always been part of human nature. People take vicarious interest in other people's sexual lives, financial lives, emotional hardships.

As long time fans, I think we all have come to realize they do milk it a bit on stage, but in their defense, I would too in their situation. Also as long time fans, I think we can tell the difference between staged interaction night after night because we have a good fan base with reviews/photos/vids and honest smiles and gestures.
Their relationship is intense and people love that. Their relationship is almost legendary, kind of like "Luke and Laura" of General Hospital. We all know Lindsey is married and has kids, so they just play it up on stage to add some spice to the show. Nothing wrong with that.

I had to laugh at the Sheryl Crow comments. I thought it was telling how Stevie felt she had to defend Sheryl and Lindsey kind of rolled his eyes at the "being in the army" comment. Oh Stevie, I love how dramatic you are!

When I first hit play and heard them singing "The Chain" I muted my computer so fast, it wasn't even funny! I did not wanna hear any audio before my concert, so through the whole interview I kept muting when I would start hearing any song, even if it was from The Dance. I loved the interview though, and agree with a lot of what everyone was saying.

That Monday Morning fragment sounded fantastic. That was far out the most interesting couple of seconds of this "thing".

Agreed, but as we all know, Stevie occasionally puts her foot in her mouth. Or, if it was not just something that rolled off her tongue, that is just bizarre. Sometimes I think she says things in the press, as a direct result of things that are going on behind the scenes with her and Lindsey.
